Seize the Birthday - Use Fall Colors

 Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Linda would like us to Use Fall Colors on our cards.  Of course the only requirement is that it be for a birthday - our Anything Goes option.

I always think of orange, yellow, green and tan for fall colors, so that is what I used for my card.  The pretty flowers are Altenew Cute Open Rose cut from SU Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.  I used the same inks to blend in the centers and shaped the petals before gluing the layers together.  The Crumb Cake centers were cut using a Spellbinders die.  The leaves and stems were already cut using Simon Says Stamp Layered Perky Flowers - I clipped the flowers off of the stems.  I glued the stems/leaves and flowers on a Crumb Cake panel embossed with SSS Thread Plaid EF and then to a white card base.  The sentiment is from a SSS set also and mounted with foam tape.

Anniversary Blessings

 Hello friends.  I have several anniversary cards to make for October so I am getting a head start.  I like the colors at Color Hues Color Challenge - Purple & Artichoke, so I used those to make the first one. These colors are perfect for flowers.

I used SSS Jaunty Stems to die cut the flowers from SU Highland Heather and blended Gorgeous Grape ink to the centers of the flowers and the bottom of the bud.  I also cut two of each and layered them to make them fuller.  I added a clear rhinestone to the centers for the flowers.  The stems & leaves are cut from SU Always Artichoke (ret.).  I die cut one of the frames from Penny Black Double Frames and layered it over a white panel die cut with Waffle Flower Rhombus Texture Die for some texture behind the flowers.  I then glued the flowers and stems in place, reversing one of the stems/leaves.  I stamped the sentiment from an older Sweet 'n Sassy set in Gorgeous Grape ink.  I then die cut it with a die from Altenew Featured Sentiments Die Set and mounted it with foam tape.

Congratulations

Hello friends.  I have another wedding card as I made two for my friend.  Here is the 2nd one.

I used an old Sizzix EF for the embossed panel as I thought the detail and the blank space were perfect for a sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment from an older SU set.  I used Memory Box Riverbank Large Layered Bloom for the flower and blended Salty Ocean DOI in the centers before glueing the layers together.  I shaped the center and mounted it with a small piece of foam tape.  I also added Wink of Stella for a little shine but it doesn't show up well in the photo.  The leaves are cut using SSS Grand Corner Leaves die.  I clipped the leaves and added them where I thought they looked good and glued them to the bottom portion of the embossed panel, then to the white card base.  I thought this could also be used for any special occasion.

Best Wishes for the Mr. & Mrs.

 Hello friends.  I have a wedding card to share today.  A friend asked me to make her one so this is what I came up with.

I embossed a panel with Spellbinders Cross My Heart EF and added a black mat.  The couple (a die from a friend) are cut from black and mounted with Black Foam Dimensionals.  The sentiment is from an older Verve stamp set.  I fussy cut it and mounted with foam tape.  I added the Altenew black heart enamel dots for a little added interest and I think they worked fine.  I like the card and hope my friend does also.

Seize the Birthday - Add a Sentiment Strip

 Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jules would like us to add a sentiment strip on our cards.  We also have a new Surprise Party Guest joining us for the next few months.  Please welcome Stacey! from Stacey's Creative Corner.  She will be finishing off the year with us.

For my card I used SU Charming Delight Stamps & dies for the pretty flowers.  After stamping them, I colored them with SU Flirty Flamingo & Granny Apple Green Blends, then cut them with the matching die.  I added them with foam tape to a panel that was embossed with SU Lovely Stripes EF, then to a mat of Flirty Flamingo.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Stippled Roses (ret.) with Versamark ink on Flirty Flamingo and heat embossed in white ink.   I die cut the sentiment with an Altenew die and mounted it with foam tape..  I colored 3 small white enamel dots with the Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend and added them.  The whole panel was mounted to a white card base and my card was done.

Blessed Christmas Wishes

 Hello friends.  I have another Christmas card done  

 I was looking through my Christmas papers and found these plaid papers in an older Recollections Christmas pad (Michaels), and wanted to use them.  I thought they were perfect for the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and also for the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge where their inspiration board has lots of white.  I glued the strips of pattern paper on the white card base and then die cut the white poinsettia using an older SU set, Poinsettia Petals.  I shaped the petals before gluing the layers together and added 3 small gold beads to the center.  The leaves are cut from a green in my stash.  The sentiment is from an older SU set and is mounted with foam tape.  I really like the finished card and may have to make some more for my Christmas cards this year.

We HERD It's Your Birthday

 Hello friends,  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I made this card for a friend at church.  They have cows and I always try to make a different one with cows each year.  I know you have seen some before if you visit my blog.  These cows are from a stamp and die set from Amazon.  I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics.  I die cut them with the matching die and then trimmed some of the white edges away.  I blended Salty Ocean and Rustic Wilderness DOI on the background and added a fence cut from SU Basic Beige.  The cows are mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is done on the computer and mounted with foam tape.

Birthday Card for the Krafty Chicks

 Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  

I used gingham pattern paper from my stash (also used on a previous card) and matted with black.  I die cut the white panel with a die and then cut a thin black mat to mount it on.  I mounted it with foam tape.  The flowers are cut from white with Altenew Cute Open Rose die.  I blended SU Boho Blue ink to the centers before gluing together and then added a fancy rhinestone center (Hobby Lobby).  The leaves from the rose set are cut with a green from my stash.  The sentiment is from an older SU set.

Birthday Card for a Friend

 Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card for a friend I am sharing today.

I used Pinkfresh Studio Floral Daydream stamp, dies & stencil set for the pretty blooms.  After stamping them I used Ripe Persimmon and Rustic Wilderness DOI with the matching stencils.  I only used the 2 inks and darkened them at the bases of the flowers and leaves and really like how they turned out.  The white panel is embossed with SU Exposed Brick EF and glued to the card base.  I die cut another white panel with SSS Petal Point Frames dies and stamped the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts.  I mounted this panel with foam tape and then mounted the flowers with pieces of foam tape.  I think it turned out pretty and I know my friend will like it.

Just Us Girls - Die Week

 Hello friends.  I have a Thank You card for die week at Just Us Girls Challenge

I had this pretty flower cluster from Gina K. Designs Bright and Beautiful stamp & die set already colored and cut and wanted to use it.  I think I used SU Real Red & Old Olive Blends to color it.  I die cut Spelllbinders Open Lace Frame and lightly stamped a text stamp in SU Smokey Slate ink for a little interest.  You can see it better in person.  I mounted the frame with foam tape to the white card base.  I die cut Thank You (an older die from Michaels) with SU Basic Gray twice for dimension and glued it on the frame, then mounted the flowers with foam tape.

Get Well Soon

 Hello friends.  I have a Get Well card to share today which will be going to a good friend who is in the hospital.  I used the new colors at Color Hues Challenge.  My friend Nancy has chosen the colors of Dusty Blue and Brown, which I love. Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the designers over at Color Hues.

The blue gingham pattern paper is from my stash and I cut a panel and mounted it on a SU Soft Suede mat.  Then I used Altenew Darling Dahlia to die cut the flowers from SU Boho Blue and the leaves from Soft Suede.  I blended white ink to the centers of the Dahlias before gluing the layers together.  I used my new SSS Petal Point Frames dies to cut the white panel, stamped the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts in brown ink, and glued the panel at an angle to the the card.  Then I mounted the flowers in opposite corners of the frame and my card was done.

Christmas Greetings

Hello friends.  This is my 2nd post today as I wanted to get my card done for Loll's CAS Christmas Challenge.

I knew I had a Santa's sleigh silhouette stamp and had to hunt it.  The images are from SU Cozy Christmas - a really old set, but I like it.  I cut a white panel with SU Coutnryside Corners dies (ret.) and stamped the images in Versafine Onyx Black ink after blending SU Balmy Blue ink over the top portion of the panel.  Then I traced the die on a black piece and fussy cut it for a thin mat.  The sentiment is from an older SU set also.  The white panel is embossed with SSS Wonderland Snowflakes 3D EF and glued to the white card base.  Then I mounted the stamped panel and my card was done.

Freshly Made Sketches

Hello friends.  Since I am making Christmas cards at the moment, I thought Michele's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #751 was perfect to use for one so this is what I made.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Princess at Freshly Made Sketches.

I had this Lawn Fawn Stitched Poinsettia already made from SU Cherry Cobbler cs and wanted to use it. I added 3 small gold gems to the center.  For the background I embossed a panel of white with Spellbinders Vintage Ornaments EF and glued it to the white card base.  I cut a panel of green using MFT Stitched Rectangles and shortened it to a square by running it back thought my Big Shot and then mounted it with foam tape.  I cut Altenew Burlap Texture Die from SU Crumb Cake and added that to the green square - it is larger than the small square in the sketch, but I hope it is o.k.  I then added the poinsettia and some leaves cut from a different green and the sentiment - a Betterpress Sentiment from Spellbinders.  One more card to add to my Christmas stash.

Pink Poinsettia

 Hello friends.  I have another Christmas card done and sharing today.

ETA:  My card was one of the Top 3 at Peace On Earth Challenge.

I had the green panel (Soft Succulent) already cut and embossed so thought I would pair it with a pretty pink poinsettia (Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia).  I cut the poinsettia from a light pink and blended a darker pink ink to the centers before gluing the layers together.  The center is cut from gold foil.  The leaves are cut from SU Peaceful Pine.  I mounted the poinsettia & leaves on a white panel cut with Spellbinders Emerald Cut Labels and Tag die set.  I stamped the sentiment from Penny Black Be Lifted Sentiment set in Peaceful Pine ink before mounting the panel with foam tape.  I like these soft colors for a Christmas card, although red & green are still a favorite also.

Seize the Birthday - No Stamping-Dies Only

Hello friends.  I am the host this time at Seize the Birthday and I would like you to use your dies only-no stamping on your birthday cards.   I love using dies so I think this is a fun challenge.

I used Spellbinders Sunflower Serenade for the flower cutting from SU So Saffron, Crumb Cake, and a brown for the center and sentiment, which is from Poppy Stamps Birthday Wishes Moonlight Script.  I did not use the shadow that comes with the sentiment die.  The flower stem and leaves are cut from a green in my stash.  The sunflower is mounted on a white panel cut with Spellbinders Emerald Cut Labels and Tag die set.  I mounted the label with foam tape to a Crumb Cake panel embossed with Spellbinders Dazzling Dots EF, and then to the white card base.

The Paper Players #800

 Hello friends.  The Paper Players are celebrating their 800th challenge and using the sketch from there first post.  Thank you Paper Players designers for all the inspiration you have shared over the years. 

While going through my dies I found this pansy (older SU set) already completed in the package and wanted to use it.  It is cut from white with yellow ink blended around the edges before gluing the layers together. I die cut the leaves from some green and glued them to the back of the pansy.  The yellow pattern paper is the back of the PTI paper I used on yesterday's card, and mounted to a thin mat of Daffodil Delight.  I glued it to a white panel embossed with an older SU EF, and then to the card base.  I cut a strip of SU Basic Beige and stamped the sentiment on it, then glued it across the bottom of the panel.  I mounted the pansy with foam tape and my card was done.

Best Birthday Wishes

 Hello friends.  I finally got a card made for the Color Hues Challenge - Yellow & Orange.

I had to think about how I wanted to used these colors and this is what I came up with.  I used PTI Bitty/Big DSP for the yellow panel and matted it on a thin orange mat, then to a white card base.  Then I used Penny Black Classy Frames and cut 3 of the middle frame and glued them together.  I used one of the center cuts to glued in the frame and stamped the sentiment from an older SU set in brown ink.  I die cut 2 sunflowers (Amazon) from Daffodil Delight and inked the centers with orange ink and added the brown die cut centers.  The leaves are cut from SU Crumb Cake and the edges inked with the brown ink.  I mounted these on the bottom of the frame and my card was done.

Freshly Made Sketches #750

 Hello friends.  I used Freshly Made Sketches #750 to make another Christmas card.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Princess at Freshly Made Sketches.

I had this cute little elf from Penny Black Sing Joy already colored and cut in the package and thought I would use her.  I cut two white Spellbinders Essential Diamonds and layered them together and them mounted the cute elf with foam tape.  For the background, I embossed a panel of SU Basic Beige with Spellbinders Christmas Tile EF and mounted it to the white card base.   I added 2 narrow strips of red behind the diamond and glued it all to the embossed panel.  The sentiment and music notes are from the the same stamp & matching die set.  I cut the sentiment apart and mounted it with foam, then glued the music notes around.  I really like this card and will probably give it to a friend at church who teaches the young kids music.

Another Christmas Card

 Hello friends.  I have another Christmas card to share today.

I die cut a white ornament using Hero Arts Infinity Christmas Ornament, then used the stamps from an older Paper Pumpkin kit to stamp Joy in Real Red ink and To The World in Garden Green ink.  I also cut the ornament topper from gold foil and glued it over the white layer.  The leaves (Garden Green) and berries (Real Red) were cut using  dies from a friend, no name on them.  I glued them to the top of the ornament and added 3 red sequins, from the Paper Pumpkin kit, along the bottom of the ornament.  I used some gray pattern paper from an older Christmas pad (Michael's I think), then mounted it on a Real Red mat and to the white card base.  I mounted the ornament with foam tape and added a thin strip of gold foil for a hanger and another Christmas card done.

Joyful Christmas

 Hello friends.  I have a Christmas card to share today.  I am slowly starting to get them done, hopefully before December😉

ETA:  My card was one of the Top Picks at Krafty Chicks Christmas challenge.

I used this lovely Brass & Bliss Decorative Floral Circle die cut from white and mounted on a white card base.  I stamped the sentiment from an older SU set in Garden Green ink. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Poinsettia dies were used to cut them from SU Poppy Parade and the leaves from some green from a Recollections pack. (Michael's)   The centers are cut from SU Daffodil Delight using a die from another set.  I mounted them around the bottom left corner of the floral frame and my card was done.

I will share this at Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge - I didn't use Santa or a beach scene, but did use red as there is a lot of red in the inspiration board.
