Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  So glad you stopped by.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

For the background I used Altenew Diamond Frame Cover die cut in white and glued to the white card base.  I die cut SSS Divine Peony from Bristol Smooth 100# card and ink blended with DOI - Worn Lipstick for the flower & bud, and Bundled Sage & Rustic Wilderness for the leaves.  I cut an extra set of leaves, cut them apart and added them for more fullness.  I colored the center for the flower with an alcohol marker. The sentiment was already done and left over from another project so I thought it was a perfect finish for my card.

I am adding this to Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge - A Bit O' Green

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used the flower die.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

Seize the Birthday - Anything That Flies

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Linda has chosen the "Topping" option of Anything That Flies.  Of course, it can always be anything goes for a birthday.

I thought about butterflies first, then birds, so I looked through my stamps and found this WPlus9 Flora and Fauna 3 stamp set which had the bird amongst the flowers so I went with that. You know I love using flowers.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics and think it turned out so pretty.  I fussy cut the image as their is no die.  I laid it on several background panels and finally settled on this lt. blue panel and embossed it with SU Subtle EF (ret.)  I mounted the image with foam tape to the blue panel and then to the white card base.  I stamped the sentiment from an older SU set and cut it with an Altenew die.  I mounted the sentiment with foam tape also and my card was done.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration by the design team and our party guests over at STB.

I am linking to the Triple B Challenge (I have both birds & blooms).

and to Darnell's NBUS Challenge - first time using this stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Green & White Birthday for 3 (or 4) Challenges

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I used my new Pinkfresh Studios Dashing Daisies Press Plate with white ink on the Granny Apple Green panel and think it turned out so pretty.  I did several colors but wanted to use this one for Color Hues.
The big white flower and leaves are made with Sizzix Corsage die (retired). I cut the flower center from Granny Apple Green card and added a fancy rhinestone (Hobby Lobby) for some bling.  The sentiment is from SU Labeled With Love and cut with a stitched oval die,  I mounted the oval with foam tape.

I am sharing at the Color Hues Challenge - Green & White.

and to the Double D Challenge - Going Green

I will also link this one to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have use the press plate and the dies.

Thanks Lisa, I will add this to the JUGS challenge - dies - birthday

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Welcome Baby

Hello friends.  I have a baby card to share today.  This one is for a couple at church who have a new baby boy.  I used the gingham prompt at Inspired By to make my card.

I used some older SU Balmy Blue gingham paper and matted it on Balmy Blue card stock and then to a white card base.  For the image I used a LOTV digital image Patchwork Balloons.  I printed it on white card stock, colored with Copics and die cut with a Spellbinders Essential Four Petals Labels die.  I fussy cut the Early Expresso mat and mounted it with foam tape.  The sentiment is from MFT Beautiful Baby stamp set stamped in black and mounted with foam tape.  I also made a baby mini album for the couple and will share photos later.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - No Stamping

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jules has chosen No Stamping as our "Topping" option.  Remember it can be "Anything Goes" as long as it is for a birthday.

I used a panel of SU Basic Beige cut with Memory Box Fringed Scalloped Frame set and embossed with SU Subtle EF (ret.).  I die cut the flowers with MFT Bold Blooms dies in SU Calypso Coral and Petal Pink, and Old Olive for the leaves.  The centers and sentiment (Memory Box Happy Birthday Posh Script) are cut from SU Early Espresso.  I die cut 2 each of the flowers, shaped them with my stylus and layered them off set. I added Wink of Stella to the brown flower centers and glued them to the Basic Beige panel and then glued the leaves under the petals.  I glued this panel to a white card base and my card was done.  I really like the finished card.

I hope you will check out all the inspiration by the team and our guests over at Seize the Birthday and join in this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Pink for the Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a new card to share today.  I made this one with the Flower Challenge in mind where they are looking for the color pink.

I used a new SU stamp & die set - Mixed Florals (on-line exclusive).  I stamped the flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with SU Blends - Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo (small flowers) and Granny Apple Green.  I cut them with the matching die and added them with foam tape to a white panel embossed with SU Distressed Tile EF.  Added a thin black mat and then mounted to a Pretty in Pink card base.  The sentiment is from SU Unbounded Love, die cut with an Altenew die and mounted with foam tape.

I will also link to The Triple B Challenge  (I love making floral cards)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Add a Heart

Hello friends.  It is Thursday and time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday.  I am the hostess this time and since it is the day before Valentine's Day, I thought "Add a Heart to your card" was the perfect topping.  Of course, if your not into our "Topping" it can be our usual "Anything Goes" birthday.

After looking through my many heart dies and stamp sets, I finally settled on this one from Poppystamps - Floral Lace Heart Split Border die.  I have had it for quite some time but this is the first time I have used it and I really like the results.  After die cutting it from white card stock, I embossed it with SU Subtle EF (ret.) and then mounted it to a Pretty in Pink card base.  I found these cute flower dies (Spellbinders Petite Floral Potpourri) that are similar to the ones in the heart so I die cut two of them from the Pretty in Pink and mounted them on the edge of the heart, adding 3 die cut leaves from the same set.  I added a rhinestone to the centers for a little bling.  The sentiment is from a SU set, as is the die used to cut it.  I put it back in the die to shorten it some and then mounted it with foam tape.

I will add this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using the heart border die.

and to the Double D Challenge - Hearts theme

Now check out all the great cards by the team and our party guests over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us in this fun challenge.

Thank You Cards

Hello friends.  A friend requested several Thank You cards so I am sharing a few I made for her.

I used Altenew Adore You stamp set for this one.  I colored the flowers with SU Bubble Bath and Flirty Flamingo Blends.  The leaves with Granny Apple Green Blends.  I fussy cut the images as I did not have a die for them.  I embossed the white panel with SU Tasteful Textile EF (ret.) and added a white strip across the middle. I stamped the sentiment from the same set on the white strip and then glued two small strips of Granny Apple Green card stock to the two long edges. I then glued it to the panel.

I got this idea from a card on Pinterest.  I stamped the Crumb Cake panel with an older MFT Burlap Background Stamp in Crumb Cake ink.  I matted it to a Garden Green mat and then added the blue gingham strip.  I die cut the white circle with a die from Spotlight on Nature dies and then stamped the heart from SU Heart Shaped stamp set in Garden Green ink.  The cute blue flowers and sentiment banner are from the matching die set and thank you is from the heart stamp set.

My last card uses SU Memorable Blooms stamp & die set.  The octagon shape is from the die set and is cut from a white panel, then embossed with SU Subtle EF (ret.) and mounted with foam tape.  I used an older text stamp to stamp in the octagon shape in Crum Cake ink.  The flowers are stamped, colored with SU Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Blends, and then die cut with the matching die.  I added foam tape to the section over the cut out area and glued the left side to the embossed panel.  I also added a green leaf die cut under the stamped image.  Thank you is from an older SU set, stamped on a stitched oval die cut, and then mounted with foam tape.

She really liked the cards and I am glad as I liked them too. :)

I will share the first card at The Flower Challenge (thanks Michele) as they are looking for Pink.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Best Day Because It's Your Birthday

Hello friends.  I am sharing a birthday card I made for a young one at church.  Her birthday is on Valentine's Day so I thought my new Sunny Studio Bighearted Bears with their heart balloons would be perfect for her card.

I stamped 3 of the bears with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with SU Blends - Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo and Bubble Bath for the balloons & roses.  I used Lt. Basic Black & Smokey Slate for the bears.  I blended Balmy Blue ink over Taylored Expressions Cloud Border Die for the sky area; Pear Pizzazz for the grassy area and a little Crumb Cake for the walking path.  I also stamped some grass sprigs along the grassy border.  After die cutting the images, I mounted the bears & balloons with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment from an older SU set in the sky area.  I mounted this panel to a Poppy Parade panel cut with a Crimped Frame Die by The Greetery, then to the white card base.

I will link to the Double D Challenge since they are featuring hearts.

and to Darnell's NBUS (first time using the new stamp & die set)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes for Three Challenges

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I used Honey Bee Lovely Layers Anemone for the white flower.  I shaped the petals a little before gluing the 3 layers together.  I cut the centers from SU Night of Navy and Lime Green (Recollections). The leaves were also cut from the Lime Green. I embossed the Night of Navy panel with Spellbinders Flowers & Leaves EF, and then swiped over the raised edges with my white ink pad.  It looks like pattern paper to me and I love the look.  I glued the flower on and glued the leaves under the petals. The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps Birthday Wishes Moonlight Script - I did not use the shadow layer. I glued this on the navy panel and then glued the panel to my white card base.  I really like the finished card and it will be going to a friend at church.

I made this one using the Color Hues Challenge - Navy & Lime Green.

Also linking to AAA Birthday Challenge - Winter Birthday. I think it has a wintry look with the white inking on the embossed layer and the white flower and her birthday is in winter.

and to Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge- Use an embossing folder.

Seize the Birthday - Use Kraft & Red

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda wants to see Kraft and Red on our cards.  If you are not in to our "toppings" option, you can just make a birthday card.

We are also welcoming a new Team Member today -Jenny MartinGlad to have you with us Jenny.

I used SU Real Red to die cut the Memory Box Riverbank Large Layered Bloom.  It had 3 layers and I cut an extra layer to make the bloom fuller.  After gluing the layers together in the center, I added the die cut center from black, shaped it with my stylus and added it with a dimensional in the center.  I added some sparkle with my Wink of Stella pen.  The leaves were cut with a die from a new SU set  Memorable Blooms dies.  I glued the bloom and leaves to a kraft panel embossed with SU Exposed Brick 3D EF, and then to a white card base.  The sentiment is from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments stamp & die set, stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I mounted it with bits of foam tape.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I used a new die, Birch Press Splendid Cosmos Contour Layers die for the pretty red bloom.  I die cut it from SU Sweet Sorbet card and layered it together.  The center is cut from scraps of yellow and black.  The leaves for from PTI Into the Blooms: Dahlia cut from SU Old Olive card stock.  I mounted them to a panel embossed with Altenew Natural Wicker Pattern EF and then to a black mat.  The sentiment is cut from SU Wanted to Say dies and glued on in a slant to kind of match the embossing.  I then added it to a white card base to finish my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day and stay warm.

Happy Birthday for Someone Special

Hello friends.  Today is one of my great-granddaughter's 16th birthday and I am sharing the card I made for her. I have 6 family birthdays in January.

.  I used a balloon die from The Greetery and die cut 3 colorful balloons from yellow, pink, and blue cardstock.  I blended a darker ink around the edges and then stamped a background stamp on the blue and yellow balloons and used a Tim Holtz stencil on the pink balloon.  I die cut the balloon strings from grey cardstock and glued them to the tips of the balloons.  The Basic Beige panel is embossed with SU Forever Plaid EF.  I glued the yellow and pink balloons down and added the blue balloon with foam tape.  The number 16 is stickers from my stash.  The sentiment is from SSS Happiest Wishes and cut with a die from Altenew Featured Sentiments Dies.

I will share this at AAA Birthday. They are looking for winter birthdays but we don't have much winter here in Florida although we are going through a cold spell right now as is the rest of the county. I just went with a normal birthday card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use Something New

Hello friends.  Hope you all had a good start to the New Year - 2025.  This is Seize the Birthday's first challenge of the new year and Cathy wants to see something new on our cards.

My new items are Altenew  Perfect Gift stamp & dies, and Altenew Basic Plaid 3D EF.  Love the background texture from the EF.   I stamped the flower in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with SU Rococo Rose (ret.) and Granny Apple Green Blends. I added a light yellow center and used my black Micro pen to go over the stamen dots.  I mounted the flower with foam tape.  I used Memory Box Happy Birthday Debut Script die for the sentiment and cut a black layer and a white layer with just the top die layer.  I did not use the shadow die, instead I glued the layers together off setting them for a thin shadow effect.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the team, and our party guests, using something new on their cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Hello friends.  I have another anniversary card to share today.  This one is for my sister and brother-in-law; she has already received it so I can post it now.

I used Gina K Designs Blooming Sunflower Stamp & Die set for the pretty flower and colored it with SU Azure Afternoon & Granny Apple Green Blends, with a little yellow in the center.  The white panel is embossed with Spellbinders Deco Holiday EF and mounted to an Azure Afternoon panel.  The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy Anniversary Innies. I stamped it on a white strip, added an Azure Afternoon mat and then to the white panel.  I mounted the flower with foam tape below the sentiment strip.  I colored some clear rhinestones with the Dark Azure Afternoon Blend and added them for a little bling.

Happy Anniversary for JUGS Challenge

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  I need several cards for friends at church so you will be seeing more anniversary cards.  It is Die Week at JUGS and I have used 3 different die sets for this card.

The pattern paper is from SU Timeless Plaid (available Jan. 7) and is cut with SU Scalloped  Contours die set (ret.). The white panel is also cut with the same die set and mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from an older Verve set and stamped in Calypso Coral ink.  The flowers are cut from white with an older MFT set, Plentiful Flowers.  Each flower has 2 medium and 1 small flower layered together - there is a larger flower that I did not use. I sponged Calypso Coral ink in the centers before gluing together, and then added a fancy rhinestone to the centers.  The leaves are cut from Old Olive with a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs Floral 10.  I glued the flowers to the left side of the white panel and then glued the leaves under the petals.  I really like the finished card and I think my friends will also.

I will also link to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms & Butterflies. (I love making floral cards)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
