Best Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I have a fun fold Birthday card to share today.  I saw these cards on Pinterest and followed Jackie's video tutorial to create my card.

I used Crumb Cake for my card base and for the center panel.  After cutting the angle in the front of the card, I used some pattern paper from Scrapbook.com Vintage Patterned Collection that I thought went well with Crumb Cake.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Poised Peony (ret.) and then embossed the white panel with SU Subtle EF (ret.).  I already had the flowers stamped from SU Spotlight on Nature and fussy cut, so I colored them with Petal Pink & Soft Succulent Blends so they would match the color of the flowers in the paper.  I glued the flowers on and then glued the white panel  on.  On the inside I added another white panel with s sentiment from an older stamp from Hobby Lobby.  The photo below shows how the card opens.

I really like the finished card and now have to decide who to send it to. :)

I will link to The Flower Challenge as I do have dry embossing on the front panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Fancy Fold for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends.  It's a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Barbara would like to see our "Fancy Fold" cards for a birthday.

My fancy fold turned out pretty good I think.  I cut a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 Grapefruit Grove  in half long ways to be 4 1/4 by 11.  I then scored each end at 2 3/4" and folded to meet in the middle.  I used a corner rounder punch on each corner.   I also rounded the corners of the cross piece - mat of Grapefruit Grove and white panel.  I embossed the white panel with SU Cross-Hatch EF.  The stamped flowers are from SU Layers of Beauty and ink blended using the masks (stencils) with Grapefruit Grove and Granny Apple Green inks.  I cut a couple of the end pieces of flowers off so it would fit on the front of my card.  I even used one of them to decorate the inside.  I glued the images on and mounted the sentiment with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the fun fold cards by the DT and our Party Guests over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Special Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have a special anniversary card to share today.  This one is for my pastor and his wife who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this week.

I used an older Poppystamps die  (Floral Cake Pop Up Easel set) from 2019.  I have had it for several years but this is the first time I have used it.  I altered it a little by making it a top fold card.  I cut the die a little over half way and then reinserted it to cut the other half so it would stand up when opened.  The original is like an easel card.  I lightly inked around the middle layer with Purple Posy ink so it would stand out better.  The top layer is in two sections and with the ruffle border, it does look like a cake.  The flowers from the same set were cut from Purple Posy card and layered together.  I inked some of them for a little variation.  The leaves were cut from Pear Pizzazz card.  After gluing the flowers and leaves on, I added a golden rhinestone to the centers of the flowers.  I stamped the sentiment (Verve) in Highland Heather ink.  I blended Purple Posy ink on a scrap of Purple Posy card and die cut the 50 with some older number dies by Momenta.  I really like the finished card and will have to use this die set again.

I will link to Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies

Birthday Card for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I made this one with The Flower Challenge in mind.  They are looing for embossing - heat or dry.  I used dry embossing.

I used some retired SU products for my card.  The flowers are from Blended Seasons, colored with SU Pale Papaya  and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I fussy cut the flowers and mounted them with foam tape to a white panel cut with a die from the new SU Impressions Abloom (on-line exclusive).  The sentiment is from SU Go To Greetings.  I mounted this panel to a Pale Papaya panel embossed with SU Distressed Tile EF, and then to the white card base.  I really like the finished card and hope the recipient does also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Anniversary Card for 2 Challenges

Hello friends.  I am sharing an anniversary card I made for some friends at church.  I made this with two challenges in mind -

Color Hues Challenge - Coral and Green

The Flower Challenge - Add Embossing

I embossed a SU Soft Sea Foam panel with Spellbinders Christmas Wrap Pattern EF and glued to the white card base.  I used my new Gina K. Designs Flower Medley stamps, dies, and stencils to make the pretty flower images.  After stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I used the stencils to blend SU Grapefruit Grove (ret.), a hue of Coral, Granny Apple  Green, and Old Olive inks to the flowers & leaves.  I die cut the images with the matching dies.  I used Spellbinders Essential Diamonds dies to cut a white panel and a mat of Grapefruit Grove.  I stamped the sentiment (an older Verve stamp) in Grapefruit Grove ink, then glued the 2 panels together.  I mounted the diamonds with foam tape and then mounted the flowers with foam tape in opposite corners.  I colored 5 clear rhinestones with the SU Dark Calypso Coral Blend and glued them around the diamond panels.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using the Gina K. Designs set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Welcome Baby

Hello friends.  I have two baby cards to share today.  We have had 4 new babies at our church and have 2 more due in June & July so I have been making baby cards and baby albums for the new moms.  Of course one is for a girl and one is for a boy.

I had the pink pattern paper in my stash and thought it would be perfect with the hearts.  The stork & bear are from My Favorite Things Welcome Little One.  I colored them with Copics, fussy cut the images, then mounted them with foam tape.  The white oval and pink scallop oval are cut with MFT dies.  Welcome is a stand alone die by Karen Burniston.  It has a shadow die as well as the main die.  Baby is from Karen Burniston Baby Charms die set.  I love the way this turned out and the recipient did also.

I used the same stamps & dies for the the boy one along with SU Balmy Blue gingham paper, Balmy Blue & Tahitian Tide card stock.  The onesie is a die from the Baby Charms die set.  I used a white gel pen to do the lines on the neck, sleeve and legs, and SU Tahitian Tide to color the little heart in and also the diaper the stork is holding .  The mom hasn't received this one yet.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day and a great weekend.

Another Card for the Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I wanted to do another card for The Flower Challenge - Add Spots or Stripes.

I had all the pieces done from other cards except for the main white panel which is embossed with a very old SU/Sizzix Perfect Polka Dots EF.  The flowers from Pinkfresh Studios Be Fearless set were already stamped, stenciled with SU Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo & Soft Succulent inks and die cut .  The Basic Beige oval and black frame are die cut with SU Impressions Abloom dies (an On-Line Exclusive).  The beige oval was already embossed with SU Exposed Brick EF.  The sentiment is from The Greetery Arched Sentiments stamp & die set.  It has 2 plain layers plus the stamped layer.  I glued the sentiment in the center of the oval and added the flowers with foam tape to the top and bottom of the oval and my card was done.  I really like the card and am glad I was able to use all the pieces together.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

I will also link the the AAA Birthday Challenge - it is their 6th Birthday.

Freshly Made Sketches #687

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I just got this set from Gina K. Designs called Spring Clusters and thought the floral images were perfect for the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I stamped the daisy image and colored it with Promarkers (alcohol markers).  I also stamped one of the other images. After die cutting with the matching dies, I snipped the longer leaves from the ends and tucked them under the ends of the daisy flower image.  I mounted the flowers to a panel embossed with SU Crosshatch EF.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set and die cut it with the matching die and also cut two plain layers then glued them together for dimension and glued it to the panel.  I really like the finished card.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using this set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use a Frame

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini would like us to Use a Frame on our Birthday project.

For my card I used a Stitched Scallop frame by Pinkfresh Studio.  It cuts in two pieces so you use just the outer part, the inner part, or both. I added foam tape strips to the back and kept it together as I like that look.  I blended Calypso Coral ink over the base of the card and stamped the sentiment from an older SU set before adding the frame.  The flowers are from Waffle Flower Tulips stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with SU Calypso Coral and Old Olive Blends.  The top bud is clipped from another image and added for more fullness.  I added them to the card with foam tape and tucked the bottom of the stem under the edge of the frame.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration by the team over at Seize the Birthday and I hope to see you in our gallery.

Happy Birthday in Pink

Hello friends.  I am sharing a birthday card I made for another great-granddaughter who's birthday is next week. She loves pink so I used the colors from The Paper Players Color Challenge.

I used my new SU bundle Thankful Garden (stamp, stencil, die) for the pretty flower.  After stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I used the stencils and blended Berry Burst ink (1st & 2nd layers) on the flower - it gets darker with the second layer.  I used Lost Lagoon on the leaves.  I die cut the image and mounted with foam tape to a white panel embossed with SU Exposed Brick EF.  I trimmed the white panel to fit in the Bubble Bath scalloped panel and glued them together.  I added this to the white card base.  I used an older SU set for the sentiment - I love the font and use it a lot.  I cut the sentiment with an Altenew Featured Sentiments die and added foam tape to the ends and glue in the center to mount it over the flower stem.

I will also link to The Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies

Blue & Yellow Birthday Card

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card that I made for the Color Hues Challenge - Blue & Yellow.

ETA:  Yea, my card was chosen as the Headliner at The Paper Players.

I made these pretty blue flowers with an older SU punch.  It has 3 petals so I punched it twice for each flower from some lt. blue card by Recollections (Michael's).  I used Copic Markers B21 and B45 to flick the strokes on the petals and colored the centers in with B45.  I shaped the petals with my fingers and then glued them together.  I added a fancy rhinestone gem to the center of each flower.  The white panel was die cut with a trellis die from SU Linked Together and then embossed with the Cross-Hatch EF.  I glued the panel to a lt. yellow panel (also Recollections) and then glued the trellis back in.  I glued the flowers in opposite corners.  The sentiment is from The Greetery Arched Sentiments stamp & die set.  After die cutting the sentiment, I cut 2 plain layers and glued them together for dimension and then glued it to the center of the trellis.

I will also add this to The Flower Challenge, as I think the trellis counts as stripes (I hope so).
and to The Paper Players - Something Old, Something New (the punch is several years old and the SU trellis die cut is new to me.)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Flowers

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nancy would like to see flowers on our birthday cards. Thanks Nancy, this is my favorite kind of card to make, as you all probably know.😉

I used my new Pinkfresh Studio Magnolias stamp, die, and stencils for the flowers.  After stamping the images in black, I blended SU Pretty in Pink and Flirty Flamingo inks on the flower and buds; and Soft Succulent ink on the leaves.  I die cut the images and mounted them with foam tape to a panel cut with a Memory Box Fringed Scalloped Frame die.  I mounted the panel with foam tape to the white card base.  The sentiment is an older one from My Sentiments Exactly.  I fussy cut around the sentiment and mounted it with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the team and our party guests over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

I will link this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the fist time I have used this magnolia set.

Blue & Pink Daisies

Hello friends. I have another birthday card to share today.   I love this card made by Tina and had to try it.  I don't have the same daisies die she has but I have a Daisy die by Elizabeth Craft Designs that I have had for a number of years and made a card inspired by Tina's card.

I die cut the base of the daisies from white and blended SU Balmy Blue ink in the centers.  I cut the overlay from white and the centers from SU Pretty in Pink, then glued them together.  The leaves are cut from SU Soft Sea Foam.  I die cut the Balmy Blue panel to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 and embossed with my new Spellbinders 3D Molded Frame EF.  I also cut the white panel smaller and embossed it with the same EF like Tina did.  I arranged my flowers at the bottom of the white panel, mounted them with foam tape and glued leaves under the edges.  The sentiment from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments is stamped in Balmy Blue ink and cut with the matching die then mounted with foam tape.

I will link this one to Just Us Girls - Die Week -Use a Flower

and Triple AAA Birthday - Anything Goes as they are celebrating their 6th birthday.

Look Who's Turning 1

Hello friends.  I made this birthday card for my great-granddaughter who turns one next week.  She is the cutest thing, even if I do say so myself. :)

This is a digital image I have on my computer and have had it so long, I don't remember where I got it.  I colored her with Copics and die cut it with a stitched rectangle die, then added a thin SU Pretty in Pink mat.  The white panel is embossed with a SU EF Cross-hatch and added to a Pretty in Pink card base.  I typed the sentiment on my computer and die cut it with an Altenew die.  I had the chipboard 1 and glued some pink over it.  I added the image panel and sentiment with foam tape. I glued the 1 on since it was already thick.  I know she is too young to think anything about the card, but I know her mom & dad will love it, as I do.

AAA Birthday is celebrating their 6th birthday and it is Anything Birthday Goes so I will link to them and wish them a Happy 6th Birthday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  This will be going to a friend at church.

I used Spellbinders Club Blooms for the flowers and leaves, and Bold Blooms for the buds.  I die cut the flower layers from SU So Saffron and the leaves from lt. green from my stash.  I die cut an MFT Stitched Oval from white and stamped the sentiment from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments in SU Early Espresso.  The kraft panel is embossed with SU Pinewood Planks (ret.).  I mounted the white oval with foam tape and then mounted the flowers with foam tape.  I glued the leaves under the petals.  I glued the buds on but added tiny pieces of foam tape to the buds hanging off the oval.  This was mounted to the white card base and my card was done.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Stenciling

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Shirley would like us to add stenciling to our Birthday project.  Of course, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

For my card I used SU Layers of Beauty Stamps, Dies and Stencils for these pretty flowers.  Using the stencils I added Flirty Flamingo ink to the roses and Daffodil Delight to the small daisies.  For the leaves I used Soft Succulent ink (ret.).  I then snipped parts of the large image and arranged it how I wanted it, then placed Press and Seal over it to keep it together.  I used an older stencil to lightly add Smokey Slate ink in the background.  I added foam tape to the image and then pressed it down on the upper half of my card base, removed the Press and Seal and it was perfect.  The sentiment is also from a retired SU set, but I love the font in it, so I stamped it in black on the bottom part of the card to finish it off.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration by the team over at Seize the Birthday and I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

New and Old

HAPPY EASTER. Hope you have had a Blessed Resurrection Sunday.

I have a new anniversary card to share today.  I made this one using some old and new products from Stampin Up and I really like how it turned out.  It will be going to some really good friends for their anniversary soon.

The old is the flower, buds and leaves from the retired Paper Florist dies and the new is the Mini Corrugated EF, which I really like.  I die cut the petals for the flower from Bristol smooth card and blended Worn Lipstick DOI on them.  I shaped them with my stylus and glued the 6 petals together, then added the black die cut center.  I also added a fancy rhinestone (Hobby Lobby) to the center for a little bling.  The leaves were die cut from Old Olive card and the small leaves and bud stems from Pear Pizzazz.  The buds were cut from a scrap of lt. pink card.  I added the flower with foam tape and then glued the leaves around it.  I also added foam tape under the small buds.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Many Mates (ret.), fussy cut it and added it with foam tape.

I am adding to The Flower Challenge - use Spring Colors.

and to Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, & Butterflies

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I used my new embossing folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
