Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I don't use orange colors much but I am loving the new Peach Pie color by Stampin Up.  I used Peach Pie card stock for the mat, scallop mat and Peach Pie pattern paper for the panel.  I embossed the white panel with the cross-hatch EF by SU (an On-line Exclusive set of 3 EF).  I stamped the image from SU Poised Peony in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with SU Peach Pie and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I die cut the circle and mounted it to the scallop mat and then to the card with foam tape.  The sentiment is from a retired SU set (love the font) and mounted with foam tape.  I colored 3 clear gems with the Dark Peach Pie Blend and added them to the card for a little bling.

I will add this to the Triple B Challenge (love make floral cards).

Seize the Birthday - Retro

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jules would like us to use a "Retro" theme for our birthday cards.  Can't wait to see what you create with this theme.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

I thought and thought about what I wanted to do for the retro theme and finally found this jukebox image on Pinterest.  I downloaded the jukebox, colored it with SU Blends - Smokey Slate, Melon Mambo, Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight.  I fussy cut the image and then had to decide what to do with it.  I thought the music notes (Cottage Cutz die) would be perfect with it.  I embossed a white panel with SU Brick & Mortar EF, (retired) and lightly blended Smokey Slate ink over the raised parts.  Then I added a strip of grey pattern paper along the bottom for a floor to sit the jukebox on and mounted it with foam tape.  I glued the music notes around and then added the sentiment (Gina K. Birthday Greetings) with foam tape.  This was a fun card to create and I like the finished result.

I hope you will visit the blog and check out all the inspiration from the team and our Party Guests.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  I made this one using the colors from The Flower Challenge.

I just received Pinkfresh Studio's Breezy Blossoms stamp, die, & stencil and wanted to use them right away.  I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and use the stencils to blend SU Soft Succulent (ret.) on the leaves and Powder Pink ink (ret.) on the flowers.  I also used Dark Pretty in Pink Blend to add color to the centers of the flowers and a little on the flower buds.  I die cut the images - I like how the stamp stamps all of them at one time and the die cuts them all out at one time.  I die cut the next to the largest Memory Box Fringed Scallop Frame and sponged a little Powder Pink ink around the edges.  I mounted this with foam tape on a panel of Soft Succulent embossed with SU Tasteful Textile EF (ret.).  I arranged the flowers around the left side and bottom of the MB frame, adding foam tape under the flowers and gluing the stems down.  The sentiment is from SU Layers of Beauty and stamped in Soft Succulent ink.

I will link this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge as this is my first time using the MB die and PFS set.

PIck of the Patch

Hello friends I have a new birthday card to share today.  I used  a new My Favorite Things Pick of the Patch Stamp & Die set I just received.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with SU Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Blends.  I used Copic C1 to give a hint of gray to the bunny.  I cut the frame with the 2 largest dies from Spellbinders Venise Lace.  I trimmed the outside edges just a bit to show the Real Red mat. I embossed the frame with SU Subtle EF (ret.)  Using the center cut out panel, I sponged Granny Apple Green ink along the bottom and a hint of blue on the top to make it stand out from the frame.  I mounted the frame with foam tape and then glued the center cut out panel to the red mat.  I mounted the images with foam tape, except the two individual strawberries which I glued down.  I stamped the sentiment from the set in black and die cut it with a die from SU Stylish Shapes.  I sponged a little Daffodil Delight ink over it and glued it to the bottom center of the frame.

I am linking to the Color Throwdown Challenge - red, green & yellow.

Seize the Birthday - Cute Critters

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and I am the hostess this time.  I have chosen the "Topping" option of Cute Critters.  If you are not into the "Topping" option, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.  Have fun with this challenge and I hope to see you in our gallery.

I die cut the Waffle Flower Postage Collage die from white and left the die in place while I blended lt. green ink around the bottom right corner and lt. blue ink around the top left corner of each section.  I stamped the cute raccoons from MFT You Little Rascal stamp set and die cut them with the matching dies.  I colored them with Copic markers and mounted them with foam tape.  I also stamped the grass from the same set in the corners of each section and colored it with a darker green marker.  The flowers were stamped, colored and die cut, then added to the grass areas.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Birthday Greetings.  The 30 and Hugs Inside are from Waffle Flower Postage stamp set. I mounted this panel to a lt. blue mat and then to the card base.  I really like the finished card and hope you do also.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by our guest designers and the team over at Seize the Birthday.

Christmas Cards

Hello Friends.  I am working on my Christmas cards and have a couple to share with you today.

I just received Alex Syberia Festive Poinsettia Stamp, Die & Stencils and couldn't wait to  use them.  I saw several cards on Pinterest with the poinsettia and I was inspired by this card (thank you Michelle Lupton).  I love it done in the blues but I changed the colors to SU Merry Merlot & Primrose Petals for the poinsettia and Mossy Meadow & Soft Sea Foam for the leaves.  The Merry Merlot panel is embossed with Spellbinders Holly & Foliage EF.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions stamped in Versamark ink and embossed in gold.  I fussy cut around the sentiment and mounted it with foam tape.  I really like it done in these colors too, but will have to try it in blue.

This card is inspired by another card on Pinterest (thank you Gail).  I really love the card and the only thing I changed was the colors for the greenery, the die cuts and the sentiment.  I used SU Soft Succulent & Evening Evergreen (ret.) inks & card stock.  The greenery is from a new SU set Golden Greenery (an On-line Exclusive set). The EF is an old one by SU called Lacey Brocade.  The poinsettia is also from a retired SU set - Poinsettia Petals (stamps & dies). The sentiment is from  SU For Unto Us (ret.) stamped and embossed in gold on a Something Fancy die cut in Soft Succulent.

I am linking these to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used the Poinsettia set and also the Golden Greenery set on the 2nd card.

Happy Birthday for Color Hues #92

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card I made using the colors from Color Hues - Pink & Brown.

I just received this stamp, die & stencil set from Pinkfresh Studio called Delighted for You and had to use it.  I stamped the pretty flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with SU Pretty in Pink and Crumb Cake Blends. It was hard to do brown leaves instead of green, but I am happy how it turned out.  I didn't use the stencils this time but look forward to using them next time.  I die cut the image and mounted it with foam tape on a white panel embossed with Altenew Natural Wicker EF.  I then mounted the panel to a Pretty in Pink panel and then to the white card base.  The sentiment from a retired SU set was stamped in SU Soft Suede ink (ret.), fussy cut and mounted with foam tape.

I am also linking to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time of have used this set and also the embossing folder.
