Seize the Birthday - Sentiment as Focal Image

Happy Thursday and welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge.  This time Colleen would like us to make the sentiment the focal image of our card.
I used MFT Birthday Wishes die to make the sentiment the focal image and die cut it out of Terracotta Tile and heavy white CS to layer it for more dimension.  I stamped the small cake image from an older Verve set in the corner and colored the flower with my aqua brush and Terracotta Tile ink.  I added a light gray to the cake icing for shading and wasn't pleased so went over the whole cake with a pale yellow.  It looks like the Memento Tuxedo Black ink might have smeared but I think it is just the lt. gray marker.  It looks better in person.  The white panel is matted with Terracotta Tile CS.   I added 3 rhinestones colored with a marker to match the Terracotta Tile.

Don't forget to check out all the designer's cards  and our party guest Joyce at Seize the Birthday for more inspiration.  Hope you see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

  1. Beautiful card, JoAnn! The sentiment is definitely the focal point on this card! And it would have been so easy to have the cake the focal point too!! You've made it seem so easy to not make it so!

  5. Your cake looks delicious in the lightly shaded yellow frosting, JoAnn! This is such a great challenge idea ... when you put an awesome large die cut greeting, you need very little else, so it makes for fast and fun cards! Hope you're doing well. 🤍 Sorry I've been AWOL again!! Hugs, Darnell
