STB - Clean & Simple With A Stencil

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nancy would like us to make it Clean and Simple With a Stencil.  Of course we always have our Anything Goes if you are not into using stencils.

I used a Tim Holtz stencil and pale pink ink to lightly stencil the background and then stamped the image from Gina K. Designs Spring Clusters to the bottom left.  I used the stencils with various inks to color in the image and then stamped Happy Birthday (from the same set) in to the top right.  I mounted this panel on a black mat and then to the white card base.  I don't do many clean and simple cards but kind of like the way this one turned out.

Don't forget to check out all the lovely cards by our party guests and the team at Seize the Birthday.  Hope you will join in our fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Another Card for Color Hues

This is my second post today.  I am sharing another card for Color Hues - Smokey Blue & Sage.

My card was inspired by this card on Pinterest and I made a few changes to it.   I had made this card for a young man at church turning 14 and thought it fit the colors so I am adding it to the challenge.  I cut strips from an older MFT paper pad and laid them on a slant to the card base.  I punched the stars from the pattern paper, plus a couple of other similar papers.  The sentiment is from a retired SU set and stamped in SU Misty Moonlight on a panel cut with SU Radiating Stiches dies (ret.).  I added the panel with foam tape and then added 3 small gold stars to it.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Color Hues Challenge - Smokey Blue & Sage

Hello friends.  I have a card for the Color Hues Challenge to share today.

Of course I had to use flowers for this card I created for the Color Hues Challenge using SU Layers of Beauty Stamp, Die, and Stencil.  After stamping the image, I used DOI Faded Jeans for the flowers.  The darker shade is the same ink with the 2nd stencil.  I used Rustic Wilderness for the foliage.  After inking the image, I snipped a couple of outer pieces off so it would fit the way I wanted it on the card.  The white panel is also inked with Faded Jeans and then cut with Pinkfresh Studios Sparkling Diamonds Coverplate.  I added the flowers with foam tape for dimension and added 2 small rhinestones to the centers of the smaller flowers.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Spring Clusters, stamped in black and cut with the matching die.  I also cut a plain layer to add for dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

HUGS for JUGS

Hello friends.  I saw JUGS challenge this week is Container so I waned to use my new Altenew Houseplants set.  I have it for a little while but this is the first time I have used it.

I cut a panel of SU Basic Beige and  embossed it with SU Timber EF, then added it to a white card base.  I die cut the flowers from SU Balmy Blue and blended Balmy Blue ink to the centers.  I layered the flowers together, adding the small flower to center of the lager blooms and then added a rhinestone to the centers to kind of match the silver foil die cut handle and hugs word.  The hanging pot is cut from SU Smoky Slate with a little blended ink around the edges (although it doesn't show much with the leaves and flowers).  The leaves are cut from 2 shades of green.  I mounted the pot with foam tape, gluing the hanger down.  I added the greenery and then arranged the flowers how I wanted them.  Hugs is cut from silver foil with a white base.  I mounted it with foam tape also.

I am linking to JUGS

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is my first time using this die set.

New Birthday Card

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I was inspired by a couple of challenges for my card.

I used the sketch at The Flower Challenge for my layout and lots of layers plus embossing for the Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge and Triple B Challenge (always love making floral cards).

I used my new Honey Bee's Burlap EF for the background panel, then added the layered sentiment from Spellbinders Birthday Wreath Add-Ons die set.  The pretty bloom is from Papertrey Ink Into the Blooms: Anemones.  I die cut from lt. pink card and then blended a darker pink ink to the centers of the layers. The spikey center is cut from kraft card and white.  I layered the bloom and glued it to the panel just in the center.  I die cut the leaves from the same set in a green card from my stash and glued them under the edges of the bloom.  Really loving the finished card which will go to a special friend at church.

Color Throwdown #840

Hello friends.  I saw the colors at Color Throwdown #840 and of course thought of flowers so I had to make a card using those colors.

I cut a white panel using Pinkfresh Studio Sparkling Diamonds Cover Plate and glued it to the white card base.  I die cut red and yellow flowers using Spellbinders Garden Wreath Add-Ons with SU Riding Hood Red (ret), Lemon Lolly, and Daffodil Delight.  The leaves were cut from two greens from a Recollection card pack.  I added black die cut centers to the flowers, and yellow centers to the two small flowers.  I tried several different arrangements but liked this one the best.  The middle yellow flower is mounted with foam tape and the rest are just glued down in the centers.  The sentiment is from a Spellbinders Press Plate and die set, then mounted with foam tape.

I will also add this to Darnell's IDEAS as it is die week and I have used lots of dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize The Birthday - Embossing

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jenny would like to see embossing on our birthday cards.  If you are not into our "Topping" option, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

I used some old and new products on my card.  The old is the SU Heirloom Frames Dies.  I die cut the oval frame and then embossed it with the matching embossing folder.  The Balmy Blue panel is embossed with SU Cross-Hatch EF.  I added foam tape strips under the frame and mounted it to the blue panel.  I stamped the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts (beautiful fonts in this set) on the oval cut out and glued it in the center of the frame.  The flower images are from Gina K. Designs Flower Medley (love this set and have been using it a lot).  After stamping them, I colored with SU Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam Green Blends.  I die cut them and arranged them around the oval frame.  For the final touch, I added black dimensional dots to the centers of the flowers.

I will link to the Triple B Challenge

Hop over and check out all the inspiration by the team using embossing on their cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Herd It's Your Birthday

I made this card for a friend who's birthday is tomorrow.  They have quite a few cows so I usually try to make a fun card with cows.

I used a new to me set from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps called Down on the Farm.  I stamped the barn, fence, and two cows and then colored them with alcohol markers.  I cut them with the matching dies and laid them aside to decide on how to display them.  I cut a white panel 4" x 5 1/4"  and blended Salty Ocean DOI for the sky and Rustic Wilderness DOI for the ground.  I stamped the grass with the same ink.  I placed the die cut fence along the blended line and then glued the barn over them.  I mounted the two cows with foam tape to the right side.  I stamped the sentiment on a white strip and then mounted it with foam tape.  I really like how it turned out.

I don't know if the sentiment is considered "snarky" but will link to AAA Birthday.

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using this set.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Noel for FMS #702

Hello friends.  I am working on getting Christmas cards done and I thought the sketch at FMS would look good with a poinsettia for the circle element and the 2 leaves for the other elements.  This is what I came up with.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Princess cards at FMS.

I embossed a white panel with Spellbinders Holly & Foliage EF and glued it to the white card base.  The poinsettia is made with Concord & 9th Festive Blooms Dies with lt. pink card from my stash.  I blended a little pink ink to the centers.  I just used the individual dies and layered the poinsettia for a fuller bloom.  The leaves are cut with dies from SU Poinsettia Petals (ret.) as is the silver foil center on the poinsettia.  Noel is cut using Simon Hurley Handwritten Holiday Sentiments from Spellbinders.  I cut the top layer from white and the mat from silver foil.  I added little strips of foam for dimension and mounted it. I really like the finished card and may have to make a couple more, maybe with a red poinsettia.

I am linking to Freshly Made Sketches #702.
I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used these two die sets.

I realized it is Die Week at Darnell's IDEAS so will share this there also.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I saw several challenges that I was inspired by so I made a card that fit all 4 of them.

ETA:  My card was chosen as A Cut Above at The Paper Players.

This is my first time using Altenew's Cute Open Rose die.  I die cut the flowers and leaves from white and blended SU Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral on the flower layers and Rustic Wilderness DOI on the leaves.  I glued the layers together and added the centers cut from Crumb Cake and colored the bottom layer with a brown marker.  The white circle was cut with a stitched circle die and embossed with SU Subtle EF (ret.) for a little texture.  After gluing the circle to the Soft Succulent card panel (Tasteful Textile EF), I glued the flowers and leaves to the circle element.  The sentiment is cut twice with Poppy Stamps Happy Birthday Poe Script die.  I layered them for a little extra dimension.  I really love the finished card.

First is The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge - the center row down.

and The Flower Challenge - sketch challenge

and to JUGS challenge - die week #791
