Seize the Birthday - Masculine

Hello friends.  It is time for our new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Barbara has chosen the "Topping" option to make a masculine card.

I made this card for my son-in-law who does a great job at fixing things and I thought it was appropriate for him.  I used some SU retired pattern paper and tool dies by Tutti Designs, not sure if they are still available, but there are others out there.  The Gray Granite panel is embossed with SU Paint Texture EF (also retired).  The sentiment from SU Labeled With Love is stamped on a die cut white stitched circle. I added the cute little screw die cut.  I matted all the papers with a thin black mat.  I die cut the tools twice and layered them for a more stability and added them with little pieces of foam tape.  The sentiment circle is also mounted with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the great masculine cards by our party guests and the team at
Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.

Anniversary Card for Granddaughter

Hello friends.  I have a new anniversary card to share today.  This one is for my Granddaughter and her husband who will be celebrating their first anniversary in a week.  I really like the finished card.

The black & white stripe paper is from my stash - I glued it to a white card base.  The oval frame is from an older SU set, Framed Florets.  I glued the frame to the panel and after stamping the sentiment (SU Many Mates), I glued the oval back in the frame.  The flower is from a 2016 SU set, Birthday Blooms.  I already had the flower stamped and cut out so I decided to color it and use it.  I used SU Blends Tahitian Tide for the blooms and Granny Apple Green for the leaves.  I used a black marker to go over the stamens in the center of the large bloom.  I then mounted the flower with foam tape on the bottom of the oval frame.

I will link to the Trible B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies.

Thanks Card

Hello friends.  I have a new card I made for a friend who deserves many thanks.  I used the colors from the Color Hues Challenge - Pink & Aqua, and the theme from The Flower Challenge - Thanks.

I also used some new goodies to make my card - SSS Rustic Layering Flower, PTI Cornered: Lace die, and an older Altenew Bold Thanks die.  I die cut the corners from the white panel and added it to a panel of SU Coastal Cabana.  I lightly blended some SU Pretty in Pink ink in the center where I wanted to place the flowers. I die cut two sets of flowers and leaves from white card.  I blended Coastal Cabana ink on the stem & leaves and then snipped the leaves from the stems so I could place them where I wanted them.  I blended Pretty in Pink in to the centers of the flowers and also the die cut centers.  I glued all the layers together and place them to the top of the white panel and then glued the stems under the flowers.  I glued the leaves to different spots on the stems.  I die cut Thanks from Pretty in Pink card and added it to the background layer cut from vellum.  I glued the sentiment across the bottom of the stems and my card was done.  I really like the finished card.

JOY Christmas Card

Hello friends.  I have a new Christmas card to share today.  I love using dies that show the true meaning of Christmas and this one is perfect.  It fits the challenge at Just Us Girls - Word Week - JOY.

I used the Joy Nativity die from Cottage Cutz cut from gold foil (gold doesn't photograph well as it has reflections in it).  I also cut two white layers to add for dimension.  I used a piece of lt. blue pattern paper from my stash and die cut it with a scallop rectangle and mounted it to a SU Boho Blue panel embossed with SU Dainty Diamonds EF(ret.).  I added the panels to a white card base and mounted the JOY die cut.  I also used an older MFT set to stamp "to the world" and die cut with an Altenew die, then mounted with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Focal One

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini wants us to use a Focal Image for our cards.

What this means is, in your card, for the focal image, use only one stamp and stamp it only once. No more stamping is allowed on the focal image. However, you are free to color it and free to do anything else with the rest of the card.

If you're not a toppings kinda person, well...you can just
stick with our usual "Anything Goes" Birthday!
The choice is yours!

I used Picket Fence Brighter Days Gerbera Daisy for my focal image.  I stamped the daisy and colored it with alcohol markers and die cut it with the matching die.  I snipped off the leaf on the right side and rearranged it to place my sentiment (retired SU set) at the bottom.  I die cut a Scalloped Contours die  from SU Basic Beige and then embossed it with the Subtle EF.  I mounted this panel to a panel of SU Copper Clay and then to the white card base.  I then glued the daisy and sentiment on.

Also linking to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used this stamp & die set.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the team and our guest designers at Seize the Birthday.  Hope you join in our fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Another Christmas Card

Hello friends.  I have had a busy week or two and haven't been able to post, but I got another Christmas card done and wanted to share it.  I just received this new Build-An-Angel die set from Papertrey Ink and had to use it.

I die cut the angel from white and the wings and halo from gold glitter card.  Also added a piece of the gold glitter behind the skirt to show off the detail and added vellum under the die cut wings.  I stamped a piece of blue with SU Falling Snow background stamp in Whisper White ink and die cut it with Scalloped Contours die (retired).  I mounted the blue panel to a white card base, and then added the angel with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Dove of Peace (retired) on a die cut shape and mounted it with foam tape also.   I really like the finished card and really like this angel die set.
