Seize the Birthday - Vibrant Colors

Hello friends and Happy Thursday.  I hope you are ready for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday.  This week we have the "Toppings" option of using vibrant colors on our cards.  Of course it is always "anything goes" and the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.

For my card I used some Prima Watercolor paper and Kuretake Gansai Tambi
Watercolors in vibrant colors and made the mat piece and then punched 3 butterflies out before mounting the Darice Tulip embossed panel.  This is my first time using watercolors and I like the way it turned out.   I used a retired SU punch to punch the butterflies and then added 3 small rhinestones to the centers.  I glued just the body section and folded the wings up for dimension.

The row of tulips were inspired by the row of flowers in the photo at Inspired by All the Little Things and worked perfectly with the watercolor butterflies swarming over them..

You should take a look at all the fabulous and vibrant cards by the rest of the designers over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see your cards in our gallery.  Remember we would like  you to only enter 5 total challenges including this one and be sure that you are doing the coloring on your card, using a digi that was precolored is NOT acceptable!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

  4. So pretty! Great idea to watercolour an entire panel so you could punch out the butterflies and also use it for a mat - I don't always think that far ahead, lol!

  6. JoAnn I love how you made your mat part of the vibrancy of colour on this card and used the center parts for punching out those gorgeous butterflies. They look so terrific against the embossed white background panel. Thanks for sharing.
