Hello friends. I thought I had better get started on my Christmas cards and this was a good time to start as I had seen several on line recently. This is only the 2nd Christmas card I have made so far this year.
I used a Hero Arts Stencil and die that I have had for a couple of years and I thought this would be good time to use it as I saw it was Stencil week at JUGS.
I love poinsettias and this makes a pretty frame. I thought about using pinks but blended SU Lovely Lipstick and Cherry Cobbler for the poinsettias and Call Me Clover (ret.) and Shaded Spruce for the foliage. The die cuts out the center but only cuts around parts of the image so you can lift parts up. I probably could have finished snipping the edges but left it as is and raised it with foam tape after stamping the sentiment from an older Recollections Christmas set in the center of the card base.
I will probably make more cards with this set as I do want to try it with pink poinsettias,
I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is actually the first card I have made with this set.
Happy Stamping,
JoAnn
Second Christmas card? And first one with this set? This is such a lovely poinsettia frame, JoAnn, and I hope you do one in pink and many more in red. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls.
ReplyDeleteJoAnn, I think you know how I feel about Poinsettias by now! You've made this set shine, my friend! [pink is a favorite at Christmas!]

Oh, what pretty poinsettias! You've picked wonderful shades of the reds and greens. Thanks for sharing this with us at Just Us Girls!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a beautiful job with your inks to get these pretty poinsettia and leaf colors, JoAnn! I like the border/wreath design for making a QACAS card with lots of POP! (Not from a can, lol!) This will be fabulous in pink. Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
