Seize the Birthday - Use Border Punches or Dies

Happy Thursday friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this week we have the "Toppings" option to use border punches or dies on your birthday card.

I used the sketch from the September Viva la Verve Week 2 challenge.

I used Coredinations Heavy White CS and SU Coastal Cabana CS.  The DSP is from a Recollections 6x6 paper pad.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the edges.  The sentiment is from Verve's Birthday to You and the butterfly is from Verve's Sparkly Dreams, cut with the matching Butterfly Dreams die.  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it using my water brush pen and SU Coastal Cabana and Regal Rose inks.  I did some faux pen stitching around the sentiment and mounted it and the butterfly with foam tape.  The pink CS is punched with a SU 1-3/4" circle punch.  I think it brings out the pink in the plaid DSP and the butterfly.  The white panel is embossed with Cuttlebug Maltese EF.

Now you need to check out all the fabulous creations by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a wonderful day.
Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

  2. Love that pastel plaid paper and the dainty punching on the side! It reminds me of some of the dresses my girls wore when they were little! Hope you're having a drier weekend than we are.
