Seize The Birthday Challenge

Happy Thursday everyone.  It's time for another challenge at the Seize The Birthday blog.  This week we have a "toppings option" to use lots of texture (embossing).  Come on over and play along.  Our challenge lasts for two weeks and anything goes, as long as it is for a birthday.

Here is my card for this week's challenge and I used the toppings option and did a lot of embossing, dry and wet.
For my card I used SU Whisper White, Wild Wasabi and Strawberry Slush CS.  The card base is Wild Wasabi and the white layer is embossed with the Cuttlebug Birthday EF.  The green check is from MFT's Textile Backgrounds stamped in Wild Wasabi ink. I added a border punched from Wild Wasabi with the SU Scallop Trim Border punch.  The sentiment is from SU Simply Sketched, stamped in Basic Gray ink, and cut out with MFT Pierced Circle Stax dies.  I sponged a little green ink around the edges while it was still in the die.  I added this to a Spellbinders Scalloped Circle cut from Strawberry Slush.  The flowers are from SU Vintage Vogue and the large flowers are stamped with Versamark ink on Strawberry Slush and embossed with white embossing powder. The small flowers are stamped in Strawberry Slush ink on white CS.  I fussy cut all the flowers, layered them, and added a white brad to the centers.  They are mounted with foam dimensionals.  I added the leaves punched with the Build a Bird Punch, and the white fern punched with a MS punch.
The butterfly is from SU Papillion Potpourri stamped in Wild Wasabi ink. I fussy cut him out and only glued the center part to my card and folded his wings back.

I really hope you can play along this week. Be sure to check the blog to see the rest of the fabulous Design Team creations and to find out all the details.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

    1. Thanks Nancy. The gingham is a background stamp from My Favorite Things. I love that I can use it to match the design of my card.
