NOEL - MFTWSC101

It's time for another My Favorite Things weekly sketch challenge.  Here's my card for this week's sketch.  The base is SU Crumb Cake, next is a mat of SU Always Artichoke and the holly DSP is from Echo Park's Very Merry Christmas.  The red & music paper are from Authentique 's Festive pad, and they are matted with SU Crumb Cake.  The sweet MFT PI Angel image is stamped on Neenah Classic Crest White and colored with Copics.  I used a Sakura Clear glitter pen on her wings and halo.  I tried to get a picture where the sparkle showed up, but it didn't work out. It looks very pretty.  The Noel is from MFT LJD-Stitched Stockings set, and is stamped in SU Always Artichoke on SU Very Vanilla.  I added a red rhinestone and some little holly leaves from MFT Christmas Die-namics set.  I put the little circle embellishment on the opposite side as it didn't fit with the brads on the left side. The brads are from SU.

Magic of Christmas - Cheery Lynn Designs Challnge

I made this card for the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge 56 this week which is to make a Christmas card using non-traditional colors (no red or green).  The photo does not do the card justice as there is a little shimmer to the DSP which is SU (retired). I used SU Very Vanilla & Crumb Cake cardstock.
The lacey borders are made with the beautiful Cheery Lynn's Anastasia border die.  I cut 2 strips and crossed them for the point where I added the Heartfelt Creations stamped poinsettia.  I stamped it in SU Soft Suede ink on SU Blushing Bride CS and cut them out by hand.  I inked the edges with Blushing Bride ink.  The tag panel is cut with Verve's  Sweet Scallop Tag die and the sentiment is from Verve's Peace On Earth set.  The ribbon is from my stash. The copper brad is from Michael's.

WISH BIG - MFTWSC99

This card is for my granddaughter who will be turning 21 soon.  I used this week's My favorite Things sketch challenge. I love using their sketches for my cards.

My granddaughter saw another card I made using these papers and said she love them, so that is why I chose them.  They are from SU Twitterpated DSP. The base of my card is SU Blushing Bride, then SU Baja Breeze and the DSP. The image and sentiment are from MFT ala modes Big Birthday Wishes and are stamped on SU Whisper White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I paperpieced the balloons and added the number stickers since she will be the "big 21". I paperpeiced her pants and colored the rest of the image with copics.  I added some faux stitching around the image panel. This panel is mounted on foam tape to give it some dimension.
I embossed the Baja Breeze strip with SU Snow Burst EF.

Giddy up, Cowgirl - MFTSCRAP1

I am playing along in My Favorite Things first scrapbook layout challenge.  It has been awhile since I made a layout and was glad for the challenge.  That is my sweet great-granddaughter in the photos.  She loves to ride the horses (my daughter's) when she comes over.
I used a lot of MFT die-namics on my layout:  Sunflower; Medium Leafy Flourish; LJD-Howdy Frames (signs on side and at top); Dainty Bow (small bow - it matches the bows on her sweater); and Western Star Border Duo (I used the negative stars to add to the top portion of the layout). I used LJD-Howdy stamp set for the sentiments on the little flags and the stars on the top sign.  PI Cowgirl for the "Giddy up, Cowgirl" sentiment.  I added a MFT Kraft button with linen thread.  All papers and cardstock are Stampin Up, except the woodgrain paper is K&Co.

Merry Christmas

I made another Christmas card today.  I just used cardstock from Michael's I had in my stash.  The embossed panel is made with the largest folder in the Sizzix Thank You Set #5.  I used the smallest die from Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia cut twice and layered. I made the leaves with the next larger poinsettia die and the Martha Stewart fern punch.  The poinsettia is mounted on foam tape and I added a golden rhinestone from Michael's to the center.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Greetings Of The Season stamped in Real Red ink.  I added the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch under the sentiment.  This panel is mounted on a red cardstock panel and then to the base of my card.
Size: 4-1/4 by 5-1/2"

MFTWSC97 - Season's Greetings

Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge #97.  I used the Seasonal Sentiments set I got free with last month's release.  It will be for sale on Nov. 13th with their new releases.  I love the big sentiments and fonts in this set.  My card base is SU Sahara Sand.  I used SU Always Artichoke for the mats and the leaves on the Spellbinders Poinsettia die.  The DSP is MME Lost and Found Christmas 6x6 pad.  I cut the poinsettia from the DSP and used a clear glitter pen to go over the veins in the leaves.  I added a small punched flower and tiny button from my stash to the center of the flower. The flower is mounted with foam tape on the green leaves and that is mounted with foam tape also. The 3 buttons are SU Always Artichoke tied with linen thread.  I added an Always Artichoke seam binding bow for the element above the MFT Fishtale Flags Stax panel which is adhered with foam tape.  I sewed around the outside edges and also down the center where the 2 DSP meet.

MojoMonday 266 - Merry Christmas

Here's my card for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch 266.  I love this sketch and had fun using it.  I find it easier to get started with a sketch and then choose my papers and theme. I made another Christmas card to add to my stack - no last minute card making this year. :)
My card base is SU Very Vanilla, with a mat of SU Cherry Cobler, and all papers are from the SU Jolly Holiday DSP (retired).  The striped panel is matted with SU Old Olive.  I stamped the small wreath from Verve's O' Christmas Tree in Old Olive ink onto a 2" circle of Very Vanilla and added the sentiment from the same set in Cherry Cobler ink.  I sponged the edges with Old Olive also.  Stamped the bow on a piece of the DSP and cut it out and adhered it on top. The circle is mounted with foam adhevise onto a Cherry Cobler punched  2 3/8" Scalloped Circle also adhered with foam adhesive.  The red panel is cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax die and embossed with SU Petals-a-Plenty EF. Then I added the strip of SU Victoria Lace with a button from my stash, which was tied with linen thread.

Freshly Made Sketches #59 - Noel

This is my card for Freshly Made Sketches #59. I have been following their blog for awhile and always intend to make a card and this is the first time I have entered.  When I first saw this sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.  All products used are Stampin UP.
My card base is Crumb Cake. The DSP is from Jolly Holiday (retired). I used Cherry Cobler and Old Olive CS to mat the papers.   NOEL is stamped in Cherry Cobler ink with the Jayne's Type alphabet onto Very Vanilla CS, punched with the 1" square punch and adhered to Old Olive CS punched with the Postage Stamp punch and mounted with foam dimensionals.  I tied a piece of Chantilly Lace around the Cherry Cobler matted DSP before adhereing it to the card base.

VLVOct2012 Week 4 Christmas Greetings

My card for week 4 Viva La Verve October sketches. Card base & mats are SU Crumb Cake (kraft), DSP is SU Be Of Good Cheer. I have been wanting to make one of the dimensional elements that are all over blogland so i used the Christmas tree from Verve's Winter Fun die set, cut it 5 times, creased the center, folded in half and glued them together. I inked the edges with SU Gumball Green ink and adhered to the card. I think it turned out pretty good being my first time doing this. It wasn't exactly symetrical, but it worked. The sentiment is from Verve's Bright Spirits. I masked each word and stamped them separately on the banners cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax dies & layers. I added a star to the top with a punch and glittered it with a Sakura Stardust Clear glitter pen.

Thanks for stopping by.  Comments are greatly appreciated.
