Seize the Birthday - Stenciling

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Shirley would like us to add stenciling to our Birthday project.  Of course, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

For my card I used SU Layers of Beauty Stamps, Dies and Stencils for these pretty flowers.  Using the stencils I added Flirty Flamingo ink to the roses and Daffodil Delight to the small daisies.  For the leaves I used Soft Succulent ink (ret.).  I then snipped parts of the large image and arranged it how I wanted it, then placed Press and Seal over it to keep it together.  I used an older stencil to lightly add Smokey Slate ink in the background.  I added foam tape to the image and then pressed it down on the upper half of my card base, removed the Press and Seal and it was perfect.  The sentiment is also from a retired SU set, but I love the font in it, so I stamped it in black on the bottom part of the card to finish it off.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration by the team over at Seize the Birthday and I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

New and Old

HAPPY EASTER. Hope you have had a Blessed Resurrection Sunday.

I have a new anniversary card to share today.  I made this one using some old and new products from Stampin Up and I really like how it turned out.  It will be going to some really good friends for their anniversary soon.

The old is the flower, buds and leaves from the retired Paper Florist dies and the new is the Mini Corrugated EF, which I really like.  I die cut the petals for the flower from Bristol smooth card and blended Worn Lipstick DOI on them.  I shaped them with my stylus and glued the 6 petals together, then added the black die cut center.  I also added a fancy rhinestone (Hobby Lobby) to the center for a little bling.  The leaves were die cut from Old Olive card and the small leaves and bud stems from Pear Pizzazz.  The buds were cut from a scrap of lt. pink card.  I added the flower with foam tape and then glued the leaves around it.  I also added foam tape under the small buds.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Many Mates (ret.), fussy cut it and added it with foam tape.

I am adding to The Flower Challenge - use Spring Colors.

and to Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, & Butterflies

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I used my new embossing folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,

Seize the Birthday - Layer It

Hello friends.  Happy Thursday, it is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nancy wants us to "Layer It" on our birthday cards.

There are quite a few layers on my card.  A panel of Calypso Coral is glued to the card base and then a white layer was cut with Poppystamps Cortina Pinpoint Plate and glued to the coral panel.  I die cut a frame with Concord & 9th Thinking of You Perfect Pairings Die and then stamped two of the corner images from Concord & 9th Thinking of You stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the images with SU Calypso Coral and Old Olive Blends.  I fussy cut the two images (I didn't like the holes in the leaves and flowers from the die cut) and mounted them on the corners of the frame.  I added foam tape to the two large flowers and the two small flowers, then glued  the frame to the card.  The sentiment from Poppystamps Birthday Wishes Moonlight Script is die cut from Calypso Coral and a base layer of vellum (which is hard to see in the photo).  I then added glue behind parts of the sentiment and added it to the card.  I really like the finished card.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration by the team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us in this fun challenge.

I am linking to Addicted to Stamps and More - Dies and/or Stencils.  I used several dies.

Blue & Coral Birthday card

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I had these flowers from an older SU set, Fresh Cut Flowers, stamped for a while but had not used them.  I colored them with SU Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green Blends, then cut them with the matching die.  I snipped off the bottom leaves so it would fit on the white die cut from SU Thoughtful Expressions dies.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Labeled With Love and then mounted the flowers with foam tape.  This was added to the lt. blue panel embossed with Altenew Checkered Diamonds 3D EF.  I then glued the lt. blue panel to the white card base and my card was done.

I will link to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies

and The Flower Challenge - Use Spring Colors

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I made this one for a friend who likes pink.

Wow, my card was chosen as the Headliner at The Paper Players.

I used Pinkfresh Studio Be Fearless Stamps, Dies, and Stencils for the pretty flowers.  After stamping them, I used the stencils to blend Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo (flowers) and Soft Succulent (leaves) on the images.  I had the Pinkfresh Studio Stitched Scallop Frame already cut so I used it and arranged the flowers around one side.  I saw The Paper Players had a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge with flowers, pink, and ribbon along the top row so I had to think how I wanted to use ribbon so I could play along with their challenge.  Of course flowers are my favorite kind of cards.  I looked through my ribbons and had some wide pink satin ribbon so I used that as a mat under the frame die cut.  The flowers and frame are mounted with foam tape.   The sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps Birthday Wishes.  I stamped in black and used the matching dies to cut it out, then mounted it with foam tape.  I really  like the finished card.

I am linking to The Paper Players - top row across, flowers, pink, ribbon.

and also to Darnell's Weekly I.D.E.A.S. challenge as this week is S for Stencils.
