Season's Greetings for Merry Monday

This is my second post today, please scroll down for my Christmas Card Challenges post.

This week's Merry Monday challenge was to use purple, silver and white on your Christmas card.  I was able to get my card done at the last minute so I am linking it up.
The card base and white panel are Coredinations Heavy White Card.  I used silver foil paper from Hobby Lobby and purple glitter paper from DCWV Glitzy Brights pad.  The silver scallop panel is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 20.  Seasons Greetings is a Poppy Stamps die and the ornament is cut with SU Delicate Ornaments Thinlets die, mounted with foam tape.  The bow is a Memory Box die.  I don't remember the name of the embossing folder, it is an older one.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends.  It is Thursday and time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday..  There is no option this week, so it is "Anything Goes" for a birthday.

I used the Viva la Verve  April sketch one.
I had to use my favorite Verve flower from the retired set "One Person".  I stamped in on SU Baha Breeze CS, fussy cut it out and layered the large bloom.  I sponged the edges after cutting them out and added a black enamel dot to the centers.  The sentiment is Verve's Happy Birthday Plain Jane.  I love the fonts in this sentiment.  I cut it with MFT Pinking Edge Squares die and matted it with black.   I added the black/white Bakers Twine. The DSP is SU Baha Breeze.

Now check out all the fabulous creations by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  I look forward to seeing all your fabulous entries in the gallery.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

I made my card for a sweet lady at church using JUGS Challenge #339 - use lavender, peach and ivory.
I had to do some thinking on these colors and tried several things before decided on this finished card.  I CASEd myself with a card I made here.   I used SU Very Vanilla CS for the card base and the 2 main panels.  The first panel is embossed with SU Filigree Frame EF.  The next panel is cut with Creative Expressions Californian Collection-Beverly Hills die by Sue Wilson.  I stamped Verve's Happy Birthday Plain Jane in black ink.  The flowers from SU Petite Petals are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe (I tried Peach Parfait, but it looked yellow) and Wisteria Wonder inks.  I punched them out with the matching punch and sponged the edges of the petals and added ivory pearls to the centers.  The leaves from SU Peaceful Petals is stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Sahara Sand CS.  After fussy cutting them out, I sponged them with Crumb Cake ink.  Both vanilla panels are mounted with foam tape for dimension.

Since this is a girlie card, I also am entering in this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas - Merry Monday

This is my second post today.  Scroll down for my Christmas Card Challenges post.

This is my card for this week's Merry Monday #200 challenge.  You have a choice of 4 themes and I chose the snowman theme.
I used this cute Country Snowman by Stampendous.  I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored him with Promarkers.  I added a mixture of Flower Soft and Fun Flock to his mitten cuffs and the snow.  The DSP is from American Crafts Wish List 6x6 pad.  The sentiment is from a retired SU set called Christmas Punch.  I stamped it in MFT Electric Red and then trimmed the brackets off and matted it with black.  The snowman panel and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Tidings of Comfort & Joy

Good Morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week we have a color challenge for you.

My card was quick and easy.  I was browsing through my Christmas papers and found this one in a Recollections Cranberry Christmas Stack.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Word Play (retired) in MFT Electric Red ink and went over the word Joy with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen - you can barely see it in the photo.  I used Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle dies to cut out the sentiment and black mat.  The tan mat is part of the DSP.  I mounted the sentiment with foam tape.  See, I told you it was quick and easy.  I don't make too many of these.

I am also entering this in Curtain Call's Keep It Simple challenge.

You should check out all the great creations by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges.  I hope you will play along with us.

Congratulations

I made this card for a friend that we had a celebration for today at church.  She has gone through chemo, surgery, and radiation.  She is now cancer free, praise the Lord.  She was scared for the first few days after the diagnosis, but put it in the Lord's hands and he has brought her through.  It was a long battle and many trying times, but she was always positive and had a sweet spirit.  We are thankful to have her with us.  Prayers go out to all who are suffering with this terrible disease.

This paper from an older Making Memories Slice 12x12 pack was perfect for the occasion.  The mats are SU Regal Rose, which matched perfectly.  The sentiment is from SU Swirls and Curls Verses (retired).  The border is punched with a retired SU border punch.

I kept it simple so I am entering it over at The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Simplicity.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.  Have a wonderful day.

Just Us Girls - Smooshing

I was able to do a card for JUGS #338 - smooshing challenge this week.  This is the first time I have tried this technique and I like the way it turned out.  I used the tutorial by Kristina Werner that Nancy linked on her blog.  I will have to practice this a little more.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock and Mowed Lawn, Victorian Velvet and Tumbled Glass Distress inks.   I embossed the watercolor cardstock with MFT Roses All Over background stamp and white embossing powder and then followed the tutorial to get the inks on the cardstock.  The flower is made with Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose and Victorian Velvet Distress ink and SU Wild Wasabi ink for the leaves.  I sponged ink over the edges of the flower and leaves after stamping them.  The sentiment is an older stamp that I got at JoAnn's some time ago.  I stamped it on a Spellbinders Floral Ovals die cut.  I added this to the card with foam tape, as well as the flower and leaves.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Wedding layout

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a layout I made for my grandson and his future wife.  They are getting married in May.  Her colors are eggplant and plum.  I am putting it in a black shadow box frame and they can add a photo from the wedding.

The DSP is from some older retired SU paper pack.  I cut the title from SU Elegant Eggplant on my Silhouette.  The corners are cut from black with  LaLa Land Filigree Corner Die.  The black border is made with a Martha Stewart punch.  I printed the date and their names on the computer, stamped the banner from SU Blommin' Love over the date and fussy cut it out.  Their names are on a heart cut with Spellbinders Lace Hearts.  I used Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose for the flowers, stamped them on lt. purple and inked the petal edges with SU Pale Plum ink.  I fussy cut the flowers, shaped the petals and layered them, then added black enamel dots to the centers.  The leaves from the same set were stamped on SU Old Olive and the edges inked with Old Olive.   I added a Recollections Rhinestone flourish to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

You're On The Nice List

Good Morning friends.  I have a card for our new Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have a photo challenge for you.

I was inspired by the kraft colored packages with red ribbons so I chose this cute Santa from MFT Jingle All the Way.  I colored the packages to match the photo and fussy cut the Santa and packages, then mounted them with foam tape.  The sentiment is from the same set and cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 20.   The white panel is embossed with Tim Holtz Distressed Brick Wall EF.  I used SU Real Red and Crumb Cake CS and the card base is Coredinations Heavy White Card (110#).  I buy mine at JoAnn's when it is on sale. :)

Now you should check out all the fabulous creations by the Design Team over at Christmas Card Challenges.

Seize the Birthday - floral

Happy Thursday my friends.  This week our Seize the Birthday challenge has the "Toppings" option of using flowers on your birthday project.  Of course it is an option and the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.  However, this is MY favorite kind of card to make using flowers.

For my card I used the Arianna Blooms stamp set and dies by Heartfelt Creations.  I stamped them in SU Perfect Plum ink on lavender CS.  After cutting them out, I sponged the edges with Perfect Plum ink and added clear rhinestones to the centers.  The MFT Leaf-filled Flourish die was cut from SU Pear Pizzazz CS.  The white panel was cut with Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight die.  I did some paper-piercing around the solid section and stamped SU Beautiful Birthday (retired) in Perfect Plum ink.  The DSP is from Our Daily Bread Designs Christian Faith Collection 6x6 pack.

Now check out all the fabulous creations by the design team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will be inspired to play along with us.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday Challenge

This is my second post today.  Scroll down for my Christmas Card Challenge post.

This is my card for the Merry Monday Challenge #198 - card based on a Christmas Carol.  One of my favorites is "O Holy Night".  I love that song and it's meaning.  I cut this nativity scene on my Cameo and the sentiment is an older stamp from Michael's $1.00 bin, which is embossed in silver.  The stars are punched from glitter paper with an older EK Success punch.  The mat and scallop border are SU Not Quite Navy CS and the light blue DSP is from an older Martha Stewart Christmas pack.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Christmas

Good morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week it is "Anything Goes" for Christmas.

For my card I used this cute image called "Berry" by Whimsey Stamps.  I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored her with Copics and Promarkers.  The mat and card base are MFT Electric Red CS.  The DSP is from Recollections Cranberry Christmas 12x12 pad.  The sentiment from SU More Merry Messages is embossed with white embossing powder.  I added a mixture of Flower Soft and Fun Flock to her ear muffs and the cuffs of her boots.  The colors are darker and look a lot better in real life.

Now check out all the fabulous creations by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges.  I hope you will join us this week.
