MFTGUESTDT1012

I decided to play along in My Favorite Things guest design team challenge and this is thier sketch for this moth. Click the photo and you can read all about it and how you can play too.  I love using their products and sketches. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I am making Christmas projects and cards for the granddaughter's teachers and this is my second one, I have one more to go.

For my card I used MFT PI-You Make The Grade and MFT Christmas Ornaments & Die set.  I stamped the image on Neenah Classic Crest Brilliant White CS, colored her with Copics and Promarkers, paper-pieced her outfit and cut her out. I also used a Versamark pen to highlight the pleats & shadows in her outfit. I cut the sentiment from MFT Christmas Ornaments set apart so I could place them separtely, and stamped them with Versamark ink and used SU White embossing powder. She is mounted on foam tape and added to a piece of MME paper, all other DSP and CS is SU. I used the holly leaves from the MFT Christmas Ornaments Die set and punched some small circles to add the little embellishment in the corner.  The border is cut with MFT Open Scalloped Edge die.

MFTWSC90 - Christmas card

I made this card following this week's MFT sketch.  I used MFT ALM- An Apple For Teacher, but I cut her apple off and put an ornament from MFT Christmas Ornaments and die set as I am working on Christmas projects for the grandchildren's teachers and thought this would make a cute card. The sentiment is from the same set. I embossed the stripes and Joy on the ornament with gold embossing powder and sponged the edge with SU Soft Suede ink for definition. I used Copics to color the image and paper pieced her top & skirt. I cut her out, mounted her on foam tape and placed her on the text background paper (MME).  All other paper is from SU's Festival of Prints pad. I tied SU Cherry Cobbler baker's twine to the ornament.

VLV Week 4 and Verve Fanspiration challenge

This is a card I made for Viva La Verve sketch challenge, week 4 and also for the Verve Fanspiration Diva Dare.  Here is the info on the Verve blog   Here is the card I chose on SCS Verve gallery.  I chose Julia's card for the beautiful yellow/gray color combo and the Joyful Blooms flower which is one of my favorite flowers.  This flower also resembles the flower in the MME patterned paper, although I use several layers to make it stand out better.  I stamped it using SU Going Gray ink to match the dsp flowers also. For the tag I cut it out in Basic Gray and Whisper White and trimmed the white layer down so I could mat in on the gray.
