CAS Christmas Card Challenge for September

 Hello friends.  I am thrilled to be guest designing for CAS Christmas Card Challenge for Septermber. It is never too early to start making those Christmas cards and be ready in December.

 

The challenge this month is Sparkle and/or Shine.

 

I have shine and a little sparkle on my card. 

I used an older Sizzix EF to emboss the white panel and stamped a sentiment from SU Poinsettia Petals in the flat section.  The pretty poinsettia and leaves, from the matching dies in the Poinsettia Petals set, are cut with red and green mirror card by Tonic Studios.  I die cut 2 of the poinsettias and layered them, then added a sparkly gold gem to the center.  I love the embossed impression on the poinsettia and leaves.  The leaves are glued under the petals of the poinsettia.

CAS Mix Up Challenge

 Hello friends.  This is my 2nd post today, scroll down for my card for The Paper Players.

This card is for the CAS Mix Up Challenge - Gesso with Stencils

 

 

I was inspired by this card of Bonnie's and also watched the video she indicated she watched.  I love the soft background she did so mine is similar.

 

 I used Tim Holtz Roses Layering Stencil with Gesso.  Some of the image is not as distinctive as others but it is still pretty to me.  After the gesso dried, I blended Speckled Egg, Squeezed Lemonade and Kitsch Flamingo DOI over the panel.  I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to the card base.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Peaceful Moments in the bottom right corner.  I stamped the butterfly from SU Butterfly Brilliance in SU Smokey Slate ink and colored it with Copics to give it a soft look, die cut it with the matching die, and glued it down just in the center.  I tried stamping it in black and coloring it the same way, but it was too stark on the soft background.  I enjoyed this technique and will have to try it again..

The Paper Players Sketch

 Hello friends.  I have a card to share that I made for The Paper Players Sketch Challenge.

 

I had this flower from SI Birthday Blooms (ret.) already colored with Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green Blends so decided to use it for the shape image.  I cut the white panel and embossed it with SU Subtle EF (ret.).  I then added a strip of Highland Heather Patterned Paper matted with Highland Heather Cardstock.  The cross panel is a strip of Light Sea Foam Green with the sentiment from SU Peaceful Moments stamped on it - I should have used my Stamparatus so I could have stamped it twice as it is a little light, but it is done and I am pleased with it.  The flower is mounted with foam tape.

Seize the Birthday Color Challenge

 Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday.

We have a Special Challenge today!  We are Collaborating with our sister challenge Color Hues to help them celebrate their 2nd Birthday!  The bigger the party the better, wouldn't you say?  Congrats to them! 

For our "Topping" today, we are using the colors of their challenge which are Navy and Lime Green.

  

Now, after you link up a card for this challenge make sure you head on over to Color Hues and Link up with them as well!  

 This challenge and their challenge will be like any other, as far as the winners go, each Challenge blog will pick its own Winners!  So you can double your chances!

My card base is Night of Navy and the pattern paper is SU new In-Color Parakeet Party. The white panel is cut with a Scalloped Contours die and then embossed with the Subtle EF (retired).  The flower from Altenew Spring Daisy is stamped in Night of Navy Ink.  I also stamped the center in Night of Navy and used my water brush to spread the ink out a little on the petals.  I stamped the leaves in black and colored them with Copics.  I fussy cut the flower and leaves and mounted them with foam tape.  The sentiment is from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments stamp and die set.  I stamped it in Night of Navy ink and die cut with the matching die, then mounted with foam tape.
