Sending Thoughts and Prayers

I will be sending this card to a sick friend and I made it using this week's Just Us Girls challenge - Alcohol Inks.
Well this is my first time playing with alcohol inks and I like it.  I will have to play some more.  I only had 3 colors and I watched several videos on YouTube before I attempted it.  I used Ranger Glossy Alcohol Ink paper and felt blending pads to add the 3 colors and then on a section of the sheet I dropped the colors in on top of the blended inks and blew with a straw.  That is the section I cut the leaf border from.  I die cut the flowers and leaves from the plain sections (you know I had to use a flower :)).  The flowers are made with SU Botanical Builders dies and I added a pearl to the center.  The sentiment is from Verve Inspire Hope stamped on a Spellbinder Circle die cut and matted with the Small Scallop Circle in black.  I mounted this panel with foam tape.

Since I used a flower, I will enter this one at The Flower Challenge #21 - Use a Previous Challenge.   I chose Challenge 18 again - Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.
Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

  1. It looks like I enabled a number of people to try alcohol inks, JoAnn, and I'm glad you enjoyed playing with them. Your card turned out beautifully with the colorful border and the die cut flower. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls (and because I'm also on The Flower Challenge Team, I'm glad you shared your card with us there too.)

  2. Alcohol ink is so much fun and you've mastered two different looks with it! Love the die cut border that lets the patterns of the AI show so beautifully! Have a great weekend, JoAnn!

  4. I've never tried the alcohol inks, always thought they were rather complicated but if I can get this gorgeous result and you made it sound so easy, I must give them a go!! Love your colour combination and it really pops against the crisp white. And your flower is so shiny, makes me wish I was on a beach instead of freezing my backside off in New Zealand!! I'm so glad you joined us at The Flower Challenge!
