Just Us Girls #442 - Photo Week

I have several birthday and anniversary cards to make for June.  I used this week's JUGS Photo Week challenge to make this birthday card for a friend at church.
The pattern paper is Mint Julep by Papertrey Ink.  I die cut the circle before embossing it with SU Pinewood Planks EF.  I stamped the sentiment with SU Beautiful Birthday (retired) and then mounted the pattern paper.  The sunflowers are from SU Greatful Bunch (retired).  I colored them with Promarkers and then fussy cut them.  I mounted them with foam tape and then added the leaves with SU Leaf Punch.  I shaped the leaves with my fingers before adding them.  As a final touch, I added clear Wink of Stella to the flower centers but it doesn't show up in the photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for May Viva la Verve

I made this anniversary card for a couple at church using May Viva la Verve sketch. I love this sketch and will be using it again.
I used pattern paper from a Recollections Garden Party pad and added thin black mats.  The sentiment is from Verve's Love Story (no longer available) and the flowers are from Verve's Kindness Matters.  I colored the flowers with Copics and fussy cut them.  I made slits between the flower petals and shaped tham a little.  I mounted them with foam tape.   I them added some punched leaves with a SU punch. The heart border is cut with one of Verve's Scallop Trim Trio dies.  As a final touch I added 3 pink rhinestones to the sentiment panel which is mounted with foam tape.

Merry Monday #292 - Add Penguins

Good Morning friends.  For our Merry Monday challenge this week Kim wants us to add penguins to our Christmas cards.
I used these cute caroling penguins from Lawn Fawn's Here We Go A Waddling, along with the matching die set.  I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic markers.  I added two strips of torn white cardstock at the bottom for the snow.  One layer is glued down and the other is popped up with foam tape.  It doesn't show up well in the photo but looks great IRL.  The background pattern paper is from a Recollections Christmas pad and I stamped the sentiment on it.  The lamp posts are glued flat and the penguins are mounted with foam tape.  The scalloped frame by The Pretty Pink Posh is mounted with foam tape.

As always, don't forget to check out the wonderful cards by my teammates over at Merry Monday.  I hope you will join us this week for this fun challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Thinking of You for JUGS Color Week #441

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for the Just Us Girls Color Challenge and just got it completed barely in time.

I used SU Smokey Slate CS for the base and Smokey Slate ink for the leaves.  The flowers from PTI Gran's Garden are stamped in MFT Summer Splash ink and cut with the matching dies.  The center panel is cut with Spellbinders Flourish Ovals from Night of Navy CS and the white is cut with Spellbinders Classic Oval dies.  The sentiment is from SU Wetlands set and is stamped in Night of Navy ink.  I mounted this panel with foam tape and glued the leaves and flowers to the oval. The DSP is from a Christmas pad and I don't remember which one, sorry.

Sending You Candy Cane Wishes for Merry Monday #291

Happy Monday friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Merry Monday and this week Kelly wants us to add candy canes, cookies, or sweets to our Christmas cards.

My pattern paper is from The Paper Studio Christmas pad and has candy canes, cookies, and sweets.  I used the sentiment and this cute little elf image from Sugar Pea Designs Merry Makers set.  I colored him with Copics, fussy cut him, and added him to the white panel with foam tape.  The sentiment is stamped in MFT Electric Red ink.  The DSP is matted with MFT Electric Red CS.   I added 3 tiny red rhinestones for some bling.   My card is fairly quick as I had been wanting to use this cute elf.

I hope you check out all the sweet cards by the designers at Merry Monday and join us in this fun challenge.  It is a good way to get all those Christmas cards done before December.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Hello friends.  I am sharing a birthday card for a friend at church.
I used a Heidi Swapp stripe stencil and Tumbled Glass DI to make the background panel.  The matching cardstock is from a Recollections pack.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp It's Your Birthday set.  The blue mat is punched with a retired SU border punch.  The flowers are made with MFT Upsy Daisy die (retired) from SU Daffodil Delight CS.  I added some gold glitter gemstones to the centers.  The leaves are die cut from SU Pear Pizzazz with Little Leaves Sizzlit (also retired).  (Sorry about all the retired items but I save them because I do like using them.)

May Viva la Verve Sketh

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card that I made for my granddaughters to give to their mother (my daughter) for Mother's Day.  She loved the card.  I used Viva la Verve May Sketch and Verve's Favorite Mom Digital Set.

I printed the flower from the digi set in 3 different sizes, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them.  I layered them and added a pearl to the center.  The leaves  and sentiment are also from the set.  The sentiment circle was die cut with a circle die and also colored with Copics.  I added tiny pearls to the centers of those flowers.  The circle is mounted on an MFT doily die.  The papers are from some goodies in my Verve order (thanks Julee).  The white panel is embossed with a retired SU embossing folder.  I also printed one of the sentiments for the inside but forgot to take a photo of it.

ETA: Since I used pink I am also linking this to the Verve May Diva Inspirations Challenge - Pink

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #290 - Add Christmas Bells

Happy Monday friends and welcome to another Merry Monday Challenge.  I am the hostess this week and I would like to see bells on your Christmas card.
I love the swag in the inspiration photo so I tried to mimick it with my card.  I used  the retired SU Bells & Boughs set and stamped the larger image with the poinsettias at the top of my white panel and colored it with Promarkers.  I sponged some green ink around the open areas to fill in.  I embossed the lower part of the white panel with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Brick Wall EF.  I stamped the bells image and colored it with Promarkers, but I also stamped just the bells on gold paper and fussy cut them, and then mounted this image with foam tape.  This was mounted on a SU Wild Wasabi panel cut with a scallop die from MFT Blueprints 27 set.  As a final touch I added the die cut sentiment using a Lil' Inker Designs die.

I hope you will check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Merry Monday and play along with this fun challenge.  Can't wait to see your cards in our gallery.

Seize the Birthday - It's Just A Number

Hello friends and welcome to another Seize the Birthday Challenge.  This time our "Toppings" option is to use number(s) on your brithday project.  You can check out all the details here.

I made this card for my great-granddaughter who is turning 12 this month.  Can you guess she likes purple. :)  I used this cute girl from MFT Every Day Is A Picnic (discontinued), she reminds me of my sweet great-granddaughter.  I stamped her and then reduced the size on my copier so she would fit on my card with the balloon die cuts from MFT Birthday Balloons.  I added the balloons so it looks like she is holding them behind her back.   I colored the girl and the balloons with my Copics and Promarkers, fussy cut the girl out and adhered both with foam tape.  The 12 is done on my computer.  The white oval panel is cut with a Sizzix die and the purple panel is embossed with a Cuttlebug Birthday EF.

I hope you will check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday and join in this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #289 - Add Star to Your Card

Good morning Merry Monday fans.  This week our challenge is brought to us by Debbie and she wants us to add a star to our Christmas card.
For my card I used star pattern paper from Tim Holtz Christmas 8x8 pad cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 27.  The white circle is cut with MFT Stitched Circle Stax and the sentiment (done on my computer) panel is cut with MFT Stitched Fishtail Flags Stax.  I cut one end part of the way and then placed it back in the die to cut the other end.  The joy is a die by Cottage Cutz called Joy Nativity, cut from gold foil paper by Recollections.  I cut one gold and 2 white layers, glued them together and mounted it and the sentiment panel with foam tape.

Please hop over to the Merry Monday Challenge blog and check out all the wonderful cards with stars by the Design Team.  Can't wait to see your cards in our gallery.

Just Us Girls #438 - Photo Week

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made using JUGS #438 photo week.  I was inspired by the black and white tiles and orange flowers.
For my card I used the Altenew Layered Plaid Cover Die A cut in white and placed it over black/gray woodgrain pattern paper by The Paper Studio.  It reminds me of the tiles on the wall.   I stamped the flowers from SU Birthday Blossoms on SU Pumpkin Pie CS and fussy cut them out.  They are mounted with foam tape.  The stems and leaves are from Simon Says Stamp Even More Spring Flowers.  I colored them with Promarkers and then fussy cut them.  The sentiment is from SU Wetlands set and punched with an oval and scalloped oval punch from SU (they are retired).  This is mounted with foam tape also.  As a final touch I added black enamel dots to the center of the flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
