Merry Monday #288 - No stamping

Good morning friends and happy Monday.  Today on Merry Monday Deanne wants us to create a Christmas card without stamping.
I used this pretty Poinsettia die from MFT (no longer available) and the Vintage Season's Greetings die from Poppystamps (no longer available).  I cut the poinsetia with MFT Electric Red CS and shaped the petals with my fingers.  I also added a gold glitter gemstone to the center.  The leaves are cut from SU Garden Green CS.  The greeting is cut from gold glitzy paper by Recollections, which matches the gold gemstone.  The white panel is cut with Papertrey Ink Mix and Mat Scallop die.  I just used the outside two dies.  I mounted the white panel and the poinsettia with foam tape.  The green pattern paper is from the Paper Studio 12 Days of Christmas 8x8 pad.

Be sure to check out the design team's great cards using no stamps over at Merry Monday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and it is "Anything Goes", as long as it is for a birthday.

For my card I used the April Viva la Verve sketch.
The pattern papers are from an older First Edition Summer Breeze 6x6 pad.  The sentiment is from Verve Floral Notes and the flower is from Verve Kindness Matters.  I colored the flower with Promarkers and used the matching dies to cut the flower and the leaves.  I also cut slits between the flower petals and shaped them with my stylus.  I mounted the sentiment panel and the flower with foam tape.  I added some Rosewater Nuvo Drops for an extra little touch.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  So many ideas to inspire you.  Hope to see your card in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes for The Paper Players

Good morning friends.  I am sharing a birthday card I made for a lady at church using this week's Paper Players sketch.
I used the daisies from MFT Upsy Daisy dies (discontinued) for the circle element.  The leaves are cut with an older SU die from Pear Pizzazz CS.  The sentiment is from SU Bring On the Cake (also retired).  The pattern paper is from Recollections Bright and Basic 6x6 pad and the orange mats are Recollections CS.  I added Paper Studio Gemstones (from Hobby Lobby) to the centers of the daisies and mounted them with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #287 - Inspiration Photo

Hello everyone.  It is time for a new challenge on Merry Monday and this week Colleen has an Inspiration Photo to use to make our Christmas cards.
I was inspired by the row of houses and used the Taylored Expressions Neighborhood Border die and mounted it to a watercolored sky background.  The sentiment is from a Verve set that has been discontinued, but I think it fits with the row of houses.  I framed this with a die from Mama Elephant Framed Tags-Madison Ave. set.  The snowflakes are cut from silver glitter paper with Taylored Expressions Make a Snowflake die set.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by the designers over at Merry Monday.  I hope you will play along with us this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #286 - Favorite Christmas Verse

Happy Monday friends.  I hope you are ready for our new challenge at Merry Monday.  This week Sue wants us to use our favorite Christmas Verse on our cards.

This is one of my favorite verses as it is the true meaning of Christmas that our Savior was born on that day.  The verse is Our Daily Bread Born this Day, and it goes perfectly with the Sweet n' Sassy Born This Day stamp set and Manger Die (both are discontinued).  I taped off the frame around the sentiment and just stamped it.  I stamped the image in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Promarkers.  I then die cut it and mounted it with foam tape.  The rays image from Papertrey Ink Shine is stamped with SU So Saffron and then I sponged more ink over the rays.  The card base is 110# black cardstock from Michaels.

I hope you will check out the Team's great cards over at Merry Monday and join in our challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Just Us Girls - Black & White Stripes

ETA:  Yea, my card was chosen as "Chic of the Week" over at Just Us Girls.

This is the first time I have played in the Just Us Girls challenge for a while but I couldn't resist the black & white stripes challenge.  I made a birthday card for a friend at church using the challenge.
I used MFT Diagonal Sentence Strip Cover-Up die and cut it out of white card and adhered it to a heavy cardstock black card base.  The flowers are from Papertrey Ink Gran's Garden stamped in SU Blushing Bride, Baha Breeze and Daffodil Delight and die cut with the matching die. I mounted the flowers with foam tape.  The leaves are stamped in SU Wild Wasabi and die cut.  The sentiment is from a retired SU set.   A quick and easy card but I love the flowers on the black and white background.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a birthday card I made for a friend.
I used Simon Says Stamp More Spring Flowers stamps and matching dies, and also Spring Flowers for a couple of the leaves.  I colored them with Promarkers and then die cut them.  I added texture to the Soft Sky panel with the Courtyard 2 EF by Lifestyle Crafts.  After embossing, I swiped my white ink pad over the raised areas for a little highlight.   I used MFT Stitched Circle Frame and mounted it with foam tape for dimension and then added the small yellow enamel dots.  The sentiment is from JustRite Fancy Sentiments and I mounted that directly to the Soft Sky panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Vibrant Colors

Hello friends and Happy Thursday.  I hope you are ready for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday.  This week we have the "Toppings" option of using vibrant colors on our cards.  Of course it is always "anything goes" and the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.

For my card I used some Prima Watercolor paper and Kuretake Gansai Tambi
Watercolors in vibrant colors and made the mat piece and then punched 3 butterflies out before mounting the Darice Tulip embossed panel.  This is my first time using watercolors and I like the way it turned out.   I used a retired SU punch to punch the butterflies and then added 3 small rhinestones to the centers.  I glued just the body section and folded the wings up for dimension.

The row of tulips were inspired by the row of flowers in the photo at Inspired by All the Little Things and worked perfectly with the watercolor butterflies swarming over them..

You should take a look at all the fabulous and vibrant cards by the rest of the designers over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see your cards in our gallery.  Remember we would like  you to only enter 5 total challenges including this one and be sure that you are doing the coloring on your card, using a digi that was precolored is NOT acceptable!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #285 - Add Ribbon

Hello and happy Monday friends.  For our challenge this week over at Merry Monday, Nina wants us to add ribbon to our Christmas card.

I used this cute image from Penny Black Gather Around set stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Promarkers.  I added some tiny bows on the ends of the garland using some older Christmas ribbon from Michael's.  I also added some fluff to the stocking cuffs with a mixture of Fun Flock and Flower soft..  The sentiment is from Powerpoppy Poinsettia set.

You should check out the other Merry Monday designers cards using ribbon.  I hope you join us for this fun challenge.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #284 - Red & White

Hello friends and happy Monday.  It is time for a new challenge at Merry Monday and this week Marcia would like us to create a Christmas card in red and white.
For my card I used SU Swirl Snowflakes Thinlets dies to create the white snowflake border and the red & white dotted background.  I love this set and have only used it a couple of times so I had to try it again.  The white panel is embossed with a Cuttlebug EF.   I used a Lil' Inker Designs Merry Christmas die to die cut the greeting from MFT Electric Red CS.  I also cut it once in white card and layered it for more dimension.  It is a simple card but I love the way it turned out.

Now hop over to Merry Monday and check out all the great red and white cards by the rest of the Design Team.  I hope you will be inspired to play along.  See you in the gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
