September Viva la Verve Week 3

This is my card for the Viva la Verve Week 3 sketch.  I use some old DCWV paper I had on my desk.  The card base is Coredinations Heavy White CS and the blue mats are from a Recollections pack.  The sentiment is from Verve Shining Star.  The panel is cut with Lil' Inkers Rounded Stitched Rectangles die.  The stars are cut with Verve Starry Die and are stamped with Versamark ink and Verve Seeing Stars set.    The sentiment panel is mounted with foam tape.
I love this sketch and will be using it again.

Christmas Card Challenges #43 - Anything Goes

Happy Sunday Morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week it is "Anything Goes" for Christmas.

I have to thank Anne Marie Hile for the inspiration for this card.  I saw her beautiful card (click here) on Pinterest and loved the colors and layout.  I happened to have the same papers and ribbon so I copied her beautiful card, but I added a layered sticker I had in place of the image on her card.

Here is a list of the supplies (All from Stampin Up except the brad and sticker):
Paper: Paisley Petals DSP & Love Letter DSP (both are retired); Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red-retired, and River Rock card stock
Punches: Scallop Trim border punch
Accessories: Always Artichoke Seam Binding; Snowflake Brad from Hobby Lobby.

Now check out all the great creations by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges.  I hope you will join us this week.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use Border Punches or Dies

Happy Thursday friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this week we have the "Toppings" option to use border punches or dies on your birthday card.

I used the sketch from the September Viva la Verve Week 2 challenge.

I used Coredinations Heavy White CS and SU Coastal Cabana CS.  The DSP is from a Recollections 6x6 paper pad.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the edges.  The sentiment is from Verve's Birthday to You and the butterfly is from Verve's Sparkly Dreams, cut with the matching Butterfly Dreams die.  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it using my water brush pen and SU Coastal Cabana and Regal Rose inks.  I did some faux pen stitching around the sentiment and mounted it and the butterfly with foam tape.  The pink CS is punched with a SU 1-3/4" circle punch.  I think it brings out the pink in the plaid DSP and the butterfly.  The white panel is embossed with Cuttlebug Maltese EF.

Now you need to check out all the fabulous creations by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #171

I made this card for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #171 to make the sentiment the focal point of your card.  I used Coredinations Heavy White CS (from JoAnn's) and the DSP and mat are some paper I had on my desk.  I think the DSP may be from Hobby Lobby (not sure).  The light blue mat is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints #20.  The sentiment is from Verve's Peace on Earth, embossed in silver embossing powder and cut with a Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance die.  I cut 2 and layered them for extra sturdiness and mounted it with foam tape.

This photo shows the embossing and dimension better.

Thanks for stoppig by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday (masculine card) for Darnell's NBUS Challenge #5

Today I am sharing a card I made for a friend at church.  The image is from SU Moon Lake(NBUS - I will be using it more to make masculine cards).  I added some light coloring with Copics, sponged some clouds, and cut it out with Spellbinders Classic Ovals.  The Lost Lagoon mat is cut with Spellbinders Scallop Ovals die.  The card base and DSP are also SU Lost Lagoon.  The white panel was embossed with Tim Holtz Brick EF.  The Happy Birthday is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes (retired) and punched with SU Word Window punch.  The image panel was mounted with foam tape.

I am entering this in Darnell's NBUS (never before used schtuff) Challenge #5 as I hadn't used this stamp set before, and I like how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Holiday Hugs for Christmas Card Challenges #41

Good Morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week it is "Anything Goes".

For my card I used this adorable image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Beary Merry Christmas.  I printed him on X-Press It Blending Card and colored him with Copics.  The fur trim and pom pom on his hat are coated with a mixture of  white Fun Flock and Flower Soft.  I cut him out with MFT Circle dies and the MFT Electric Red mat is cut with Spellbinders Scalloped Circles die.  I sponged around the edges of the image with SU Bashful Blue and Crumb Cake inks.  The sentiment is from MFT Holiday Hugs Snowman, cut with Pierced Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Flags Layers dies.  The image and sentiment panels are mounted with foam tape.  The DSP is some older DCWV Christmas paper.  All the mats are MFT Electric Red CS and the card base is MFT Whip Cream CS.

Now you should check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges.     Hope you will be inspired to join us.

Merry Christmas for Merry Monday - Holly

Hello friends.  I was able to get my card done for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge this time and we are to use holly on our card.

I took several shots of my card, but had to take it on an angle so the embossed layer would show up, white is so hard to photograph.  I used SU Garden Green and Coredinations Heavy White CS.  The image is from a Hampton Art stamp & die set.  I cut the included die and stamped the image with SU Cherry Cobbler ink.  I traced the outer edge of the die on SU Garden Green CS and fussy cut it out.  The holly leaves are cut with Spellbinders Little Leaf Set, and I added 3 small red pearls by Queen & Co.  The white panel is embossed with a Sizzix Holly EF.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

May All Your Birthday Wishes Come True

My card is made with MFT Smooth White, Orange Fizz and Natural cardstocks.  The DSP is from MME Happy Day 6x6 pad.  I used several items I have never used before.  To make the frame I used the larges MFT Stitched Rectangle Frame die (NBUS) and only cut part of the way, put it back  in the die and cut the end to make it shorter.  The images and sentiment are from MFT Birthday Bears (NBUS).  I overstamped the balloons with MFT Orange Fizz and Summer Splash ink using a similar shape from MFT Birthday Wishes & Balloons (NBUS).  I cut out the bears and balloons with the matching Birthday Bear dies (NBUS) from Natural CS, stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (I fussy cut around them).  I used Copics to color them for a little dimension.  This panel is mounted with foam tape.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

MFT Sketch Challenge (I based my layout on this sketch, but made it a rectangle card.)

Thinking of You

We are having a Crafts Day at our Church this month and I was asked to do a card class so this is the card we are going to make.  I used MFT Whip Cream CS for the card base and sentiment panel.  The flower was cut with MFT Upsy Daisy dies and MFT Electric Red CS.  I used MFT Royal Leaves dies cut from SU Pear Pizzazz CS.  The sentiment is from Just Rite Large Fancy Sentiments.  The panel is cut with  Lil' Inker's Side Stiched Rectangles.  The black mats are Recollections CS.  The DSP was loose in my stash but I know it is from a My Mind's Eye 6x6 pad.  I added a yellow rhinestone to the flower center and mounted the panel with foam tape.

We will be using assorted colors for the DSP and flower.

Seize The Birthday

Happy Thursday my blogging friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this week it is "Anything Goes" for a birthday.

I am partial to making cards with flowers so here is another one for you.  I used this lovely Ariana Blooms stamp and matching die by Heartfelt Creations.  I stamped the flower in Ranger Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and lightly sponged the edges, spritz the back of the flowers with water and shaped the petals.   When dry, I went over the petal edges with my clear glitter gel pen, and added a rhinestone to the center.  The leaves are cut from SU Pistachio Pudding with MFT Layered Leaves die.  The sentiment is from MFT LJD Spring Tulips.  I used Spellbinders Classic Ovals and Scalloped Ovals for the sentiment panel and mat.  I did some paper-piercing around the sentiment panel and added 3 small rhinestones.  The large lt. green panel is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 20.  The white panel is embossed with SU Decorative Dots EF.  The card base and white panels are Coredinations Heavy CS (from JoAnn's).  Not sure who the lt. green  glimmer paper is from as I can't find the cover.  It is a 5x7 pad of pastel colors.

I hope you will check out all the fabulous cards by the designers over at Seize the Birthday and play along with us.  We love seeing your creations.

Good Morning friends.  It is Sunday and time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have a color challenge for you.

JUGS #308 - Happy Anniversary

I have another anniversary card for a couple at church.  I am always needing anniversary or birthday cards and I love making them.  I made this one using the sketch at JUGS Wild Card Week.

ETA:  Yea, my card won Chic of the Week over at JUGS.

I used MFT Whip Cream and Tropical Teal CS.  The DSP is some older American Crafts I had in my stash.  The flowers are SU Birthday Blossoms.  I stamed them in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with my water brush and SU Pretty in Pink ink.  The leaves were colored with SU Pear Pizzazz ink.  I fussy cut them out and added a button to the centers.  They are mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from Just Rite Large Fancy Sentiments.  I cut the panel with SU Lots of Labels Framelits and added faux pen stitching. I fussy cut the mat and mounted it with foam tape.  I used a retired SU punch for the border on the panel under the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.
