Happy Anniversary for My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge

I made an anniversary card for a couple at church using the sketch for MFT Card Challenges #221.  I have several more anniversary and birthday cards to make during April.
The card base is MFT Natural CS and the leaves are cut from MFT Spearmint CS using MFT Leaf-Filled Flourish die.  I used SU Pink Pirouette for the banner, top edge and MFT Upsy Daisy die.  I stamped the white background with MFT Burlap Background in SU Crumb Cake ink and cut it out using a die from MFT Blueprints 22.  I put it back in the die and cut the opposite corner as it only had one rounded corner and the sketch has two.  I added 3 Candi Dots by Craftworkcards in the corner.  The sentiment is from MFT Together Forever set.  I hand cut the banner.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas - Christmas Card Challenges #17

Good morning friends.  It is Sunday and time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  It is "Anything Goes"  this week and I am happy to share my card with you.

I used the sketch from Viva la Verve March Week 1 for my card.

The card base is SU Cherry Cobbler, the mats are Basic Black, and the white is X-Press It Blending Card.  The DSP is from Teresa Collins Santa's List 6x6 pad.  The large white panel is embossed with Cuttlebug Holly Ribbons EF.  I used Verve's Light My World (candle & sentiment) and Pinecone Christmas (poinsettia), stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  I fussy cut the Poinsettia and used MFT Pierced Circle die for the candle image.  I inked the edges with SU Crumb Cake before removing the die.  The mat is cut with MFT Circle Stax 2 die.  The banner and flower are mounted with foam tape.  I added rhinestones to the center of each flower.  That's it for my card.

You need to check out all the fabulous creations by my teammates at Christmas Card Challenges.  I hope you will play along with us this week.

Happy Christmas for Merry Monday

The challenge this week at Merry Monday is to use a tree on your Christmas card.  I used this cute Daisie's Christmas Tree digi image from Di's Digi Images.  I printed her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and Promarkers.  I cut her out with Spellbinders Classic Oval (SSS) and matted her with Spellbinders Scallop Oval (SSS).  I sponged Bashful Blue ink around the edges before removing the die.  The green mats are cut from cardstock from a DCWV Christmas Scrapbook Kit In a Stack.  The DSP is from Echo Park's Reflections Christmas 6x6 pad.  The red strip is MFT Electric Red CS.  The sentiment is from MFT's Happy Christmas.  I hand cut the banner ends.  I used a Gelly Roll Clear Glitter pen on the ornaments and the star and mounted the image and sentiment with foam tape.

Happy Birthday to You

Happy Thursday morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday.  This week it is "anything goes" as long as it is birthday.

I used the color challenge at Just Us Girls - black & white with your choice of a third color (I chose pink) and the sketch from Viva la Verve, March Week 2.
I used MFT Smooth White and Black Licorice CS, and SU Blushing Bride CS (it matches the DSP better in person).  The pink banner is cut with MFT Pierce Fishtail Flags die.  The flowers are from Verve Grateful Elegance and the matching larger Plain Jane flower (not available).  I inked the petal tips with Blushing Bride ink.  The sentiment is from Verve Birthday to You, cut with MFT Pierced Circle die and Spellbinders Small Scallop Oval die.  The ribbon is from SU.  The DSP is from a really old pack by Making Memories called Sabrina, love the pink & black together (can't believe I haven't used it before now).  I have had the pack of paper doilies by The Little Yellow Bicycle for awhile also.

This is my first time using both of these so I am linking to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #4 (never before used schtuff)

Christmas Card Challenges #16 - Anything Goes

Good Morning Friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week it is "anything goes" as long as it it Christmas.

I decided to use this cute Penny Black image from "Mimi's Christmas".  I stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics.  I used a SU Gold marker to color her halo.  I fussy cut her out and mounted her with foam tape to the Spellbinders Classic Oval, sponged with SU Soft Sky ink, and the Floral Oval cut from SU Blushing Bride.  The pink DSP is Blushing Bride from a retired 6x6 pad.  The blue is from My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas 6x6 pad.  Both are matted with MFT Whip Cream CS and the oval and banner are also Whipped Cream.  I stamped the sentiment from a discontinued MFT Christmas set and punched it out with the SU Modern Label punch.  I mounted it with double layers of foam tape and glued the ends down to give it dimension.  The card base is MFT Natural CS.

You should check out all the great cards by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges.  I hope you will join us this week.

Christmas Card Challenges #15

Good Morning friends.  It is Sunday and time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have a photo inspiration for you - blue & silver ornaments.

I love blue and silver together and they make a beautiful Christmas card.  I used 2 ornaments from SU Tags Til Christmas (stamped in Soft Sky ink) and Contempo Christmas (stamped in Marina Mist ink) - sorry, both are retired.  Then I overstamped them with Versamark ink, embossed them with Irridescent Ice embossing powder and punched them out with the matching ornament punch.  I cut the bows from silver foil paper with a Memory Box die.  The pine branch is from SU Watercolor Christmas, stamped several times in Wild Wasabi ink.  The ornaments are mounted with foam tape on DSP from Teresa Collins Studio Gold 6x6 pad.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Greetings of the Season in Marina Mist ink. I also used the Silver Foil paper as a mat and the card base is Marina Mist.

This photo shows how shiny the ornaments are IRL.  They are so pretty.

My teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges have created some fabulous cards.  I hope you will check them out and join us in the challenge.

Just Us Girls - Masculine

This is my second post today.  Scroll down for my Seize the Birthday card or click HERE.

The JUGS #283 challenge is to make a masculine card.

I decided to make this card for my great-grandson who will be turning 5 next week.  He loves to go fishing with his dad (who loves fishing also).  The image is from Stampendous Fishing Friends Kiddo, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  I sponged the clouds with SU Bashful Blue ink and a large scallop circle punch.  It is cut out with MFT Circle Stax 1 and 2.  The mats are SU Midnight Muse.  The sentiment is from SU Something to Celebrate, stamped in Midnight Muse ink and cut with MFT Blueprints 23, which I just received today (yippee).  I hand-cut the mat and mounted it with foam tape over the jute twine.  The image panel is also mounted with foam tape.  The DSP is from a Country Kitchen 6x6 pad by Farm House Paper Co.  The card base is MFT Smooth White.

I am also entering my card over at the Southern Girls Challenge which this week is Boys, Boys, Boys.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use Sentiment as Main Focus

Hi friends, it's Thursday and time for a new Seize the Birthday challenge.  This time we have a "Toppings" option to make the sentiment the main focus on your card.

Here is my card.  I used the colors from Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  I stamped the sentiment from MFT CS Chalkboard Greetings in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.   I sponged the 3 inks over the embossed sentiment and then wiped it with a paper towel.  I mounted it on a white mat and Wild Wasabi mat.  I mounted that panel with foam tape on a Blushing Bride panel stamped with the MFT Happy Birthday background stamp in Blushing Bride ink.  Then they were all mounted on an MFT Smooth White CS base.  Lastly, I added the 4 pastel dots by Sticko to the corners and a CTMH Enamel Star over the star in the embossed sentiment.

Now it is time to check our all the fabulous creations by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Card Challenges #14 - use Sentiment Only

Good Morning friends.  We have a new challenge for you at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week it is Sentiment Only - No Images.

I used this beautiful sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs Snowflake Stars set, stamped in Versamark and embossed with Ranger Extra Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  The 3 glitter stars at the bottom are from Teresa Collins Enamel Shapes.  The gold foil paper is from Holiday Elegance by Craft Smith (an after Christmas purchase at Michael's).  I think it coordinates beautifully with the sentiment.   I used Spellbinders Floral Ovals to cut the sentiment out and added a SU 1/8" Gold ribbon to finish it off.

Merry Monday #148 - Red & Green

This is my card for Merry Monday #148 - use Red & Green.   I found these cute 3D Christmas Ornaments by The Paper Studio while I was shopping yesterday and thought they would be perfect for this week's Merry Monday challenge.  The center poinsettia is a puffy element.  The gold trim on the ornament doesn't show up well in the photo but is very pretty IRL.  I added a sliver of gold foil paper for the hanger.  The greenery is from a Memory Box die cut in SU Always Artichoke and Garden Green and layered for more dimension.  The sentiment from SU Greetings of the Season is stamped in MFT Electric Red.  The red mat is Electric Red and the card base is MFT Smooth White.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.

Happy Anniversary x 2

I made a couple of anniversary cards for 2 couples at church (they loved them).
My first card is done in gold and I used the photo inspiration at Just Us Girls and went with the flowers, dots and gold in the photo.  The gold dotted paper is from Teresa Collins Studio Gold 6x6 pad.  The gold foil paper is from Holiday Elegance by Craft Smith (from Michael's).  I punched the leaves from the same paper with SU Build A Bird punch.  The flowers from SU Flower Soft are stamped in Versamark on Vellum, embossed with Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold embossing powder and mounted with foam tape.   Happy Anniversary is from an Innie & Outie stamp from Hobby Lobby.

This card is based on Deneen Treble's card (thank you Deneen) I saw on Pinterest.  I changed the colors, flowers and banner, but love the way she did the Spellbinders Floral Ovals die and background.   I used SU Lost Lagoon DSP and stamped the flower from Vintage Vogue (retired) in Lost Lagoon ink.  The leaves are from SU Peaceful Petals on Old Olive.  The banner is cut with the Artiste cartridge on my Cricut.  The sentiment is also from SU Something To Celebrate.  I curved the stamp a little on my block before stamping it in Lost Lagoon ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Happy Stamping,

My card base and mat are MFT Natural CS.  The DSP is from American Crafts Jolly 6x6 pad.  The white is embossed with a holly leaf by The Paper Studio.  I die-cut the ornaments from a gold glitz paper by DCWV and MFT Electric Red CS with Clairmont Ornaments by Memory Box.  I embossed the red ornaments with little snowflakes from MFT Christmas Ornaments (retired) in white embossing powder and placed them inside the gold die-cut.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I cut it apart and stamped it in Electric Red ink and hand cut the banner.
