Happy Anniversary

This is my second post today,  You can scroll down for my Christmas Card Challenge. (Thanks)
This is a card I made for a sweet couple at church.  I used Freshly Made Sketches #201 for my layout.
The card base and all white is Coredinations Heavy White CS, Recollections Black for the mats and the DSP is from Pink Paislee Bella Rouge 6x6 pad.  The die cut heart is Cherry Lynn Design Two of Hearts die, mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from an Inie & Outie by My Sentiments Exactly.  I fussy cut the flag ends and mounted it with foam tape.  I added some pink rhinestones to some of the heart centers on the panel embossed with SU Happy Hearts EF.

I am also entering this at Verve's August Inspiration Challenge - Celebrate.  An anniversary is definitely worth celebrating.  I also used the pink & black colors for inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday

Hello Friends, it is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time we have the "Toppings" option of using weather elements on your card (sun, rain, clouds, etc.).  Of course, if you don't like the "Toppings" option, you can just make a birthday project.

For my card I used this adorable MFT PI Guess Who Loves You image.  I thought she looked like she was out in the bright sunshine with her shades on.  I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics.  Her pants & top are paper pieced.  I added SU Crystal Effects to her glasses, but it doesn't show up in the photo.  The DSP is from Echo Park Summer Bliss 6x6 pad, except the blue which is from a Colorbok pad from WalMart.  The clouds are sponged on with a Taylored Expression Cloud Border die and SU Bashful Blue ink.  The grass is cut with MFT Grassy Edges die in SU Pistachio Pudding.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes (retired).  I added the MFT layered sun die (it must be discontinued as I couldn't find it on their web site).  I die cut it from SU So Saffron CS, inked the edges of the center and adhered it with foam tape.

Forgot to link up my card at Verve's Inspiration Challenge - Celebration.  This card was for my great-granddaughter's 12th birthday.  She is blonde and this cute image with her shades reminds me of her.

Dream Big for Viva la Verve

This is my card using the August Viva la Verve, Week 1 sketch.  I used Coredinations Heavy White CS and DSP from Chickaniddy 6x6 Collection Pad.  The mats are Recollections Black CS.  I stamped the flower from Verve's Joyful Blooms twice and fussy cut the smaller one, colored with Copics and layered with foam tape.  The leaves are from Verve's Sunny Days and the sentiment is from Verve's Sparkly Dreams.  I hand cut the tag and added pen stitching around the edges.  The SU Pink Pirouette flag was cut with Verve's Flag It die set.  I fussy cut the mat and then added 3 pearls.

Christmas Card Challenges - Anything Goes

Good morning friends.  This week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges is "Anything Goes".  I chose to make a center step card (I haven't made one in quite awhile).

I used SU Real Red CS and Recollection DSP.  The image from Flourishes Christmas Candles is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card.  I did a little coloring with Promarkers and cut it out with Lil' Inkers Stitched Rounded Rectangles.  The sentiment is from SU Contempo Christmas (retired) and punched with a retired SU punch.  The image panel and sentiment panel are mounted with foam tape.  I added 2 homemade enamel dots and my card was done.

Since I used red, lt.green, and darker green (in the leaves around the candle), I am going to enter this in the Merry Monday Christmas challenge.

Christmas Card Challenges #37 - Color Inspiration

Good morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week we have a photo challenge for you.

I love making mostly white cards and this week's photo challenge is perfect for this.  I used MFT Natural  and Smooth White CS.  I stamped the ornaments from SU Ornament Keepsakes in Versamark ink on Natural CS and embossed in white embossing powder.  I hung them with gold twine.  Peace is cut from the Natural CS with a die by Impression Obsession.  The ornaments are mounted with foam tape on the white panel which is embossed with an EF by The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.

Happy Birthday Nancy

Today is Nancy Leppek's birthday.

Stop by her blog and wish her a Happy Birthday (just click on her name). She is our team leader over at Seize the Birthday and we wanted to let her know how much we appreciate her for all that she does.  Happy Birthday Nancy, you are the greatest and we love you.  I hope you have a WONDERFUL birthday.

My card base and banner are Coredinations Heavy White CS.  The DSP is some I had on my desk and the dotted strip is part of the design.  I die cut the bottom edge of my card with Spellbinders dies and added a strip of the pink paper on the inside of the card.  The flower is from SU Flower Shop stamped in SU Basic Gray ink on the same DSP and punched with the matching punch.  The leaves and sentiment are from SU Birthday Blossoms, both stamped in Basic Gray ink.  The leaves are stamped on SU Pistachio Pudding CS.  The banner is cut from Cheery Lynn Designs Horizon Fishtail Banners.

Good morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week it is "Anything Goes", of course it has to be Christmas.

This is a quick and simple card.  I used MFT Whip Cream CS for the base and oval panel embossed with a Darice Snowflake EF and sponged light blue ink over the embossed snowflakes.  The DSP is some older retired SU Christmas paper and the mats are SU Real Red CS.  The snowman and sentiment are stickers from Echo Park Jingle All The Way.  I mounted them with foam tape for more dimension.

Christmas Card Challenges #35

Good morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have a color challenge for you.

I used Coredinations Heavy White CS, SU Basic Black, Pink Piroutte CS and Pistachio Pudding DSP.  I stamped the image from Verve's Light My World in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I did some coloring with Promarkers.  I drew a line and added a little grey shadow under the candle image.  I cut it out with Spellbinders Classic Ovals.  The background looked plain so I fussy cut the image out and added it to an oval embossed with the Tim Holtz brick EF.  Before I glued it down, I stamped the flowers again, colored them green, fussy cut them out and added some leaves to the poinsettias.  I like the way it turned out.  The pink mat is cut with Spellbinders Floral Ovals die.  The sentiment is from the same set.  Both panels are mounted with foam tape.

You should check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges and I hope you will play along with us this week.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
