Seize the Birthday

Happy Thursday my friends.  It is time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  This week it is "anything goes" as long as it is birthday.

Here is my card:

I used SU Lost Lagoon (my new favorite color) CS and DSP, and white for my card.  The flower is made with Lost Lagoon CS and the SU Mosaic punch.  I inked the petal edges with Lost Lagoon ink and shaped them.   I added a pearl brad to the center.  The leaves were punched from Mossy Meadow, inked and shaped.  The sentiment is from a Happy Birthday set by TPC Studio, stamped in Lost Lagoon ink, and cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Flags Layers dies.  I added 3 pearls in the upper right corner.

Merry Monday #142 Challenge - Houses

This is my card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge - Use a house(s) on your card.

ETA:  My card was chosen as an Honorable Mention at Merry Monday.
I was looking through my papers and found this DSP with houses on it.  It is from American  Crafts Peppermint Express 12x12 pad.  I thought the houses would be perfect for my card.  I fussy cut them out and used the background paper to add snow from Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil using embossing paste and SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  The snow banks are made with MFT Stitched Snow Drifts die.  The houses are mounted with foam tape, as well as the bottom snow drift.  The sentiment from Verve's Poinsettia Christmas is stamped in SU Cherry Cobbler ink. The mat is SU Not Quite Navy and the card base and snow drifts are MFT Smooth White CS.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Birthday for MFTWSC211

I was able to get my card done for this week's My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 211 after having been sick with a virus the past several days.

I used the MFT PI Happy Banner image, stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card, colored her with Copics and paper-pieced her dress and bow with Recollections Bold Basics DSP.  I stamped the banner a 2nd time, colored it in yellow to match the dots on the dotted paper, and fussy cut it out to add to the image.   The DSP is from the same pad, except the one behind the PI image, it is from an American Crafts 6x6 Paper Pad.   I used Spellbinders Ovals and Scalloped Ovals dies.  The "Birthday" sentiment is part of a greeting from MFT LJD On The Line set (discontinued).  It is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 2 set and mounted with foam tape.  The girl is also mounted with foam tape.  The card base is MFT Smooth White and the mats are Recollections Black.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Card Challenges - Santa's Hats

Good Sunday Morning my friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week we have an Inspiration Photo (Santa's Hats) to challenge you.

I used this vintage Santa image from a discontinued MFT's set.  I stamped him on X-Press It Blending Card and colored him with Copics.  I cut him out with MFT Pierced Circle dies and sponged light ink around the image before removing the die.  I matted him with MFT Electric Red CS cut with MFT Circle 2 die.  I used the same red for the large mat and the Spellbinders Grommet Tag die.  I stamped the sentiment from Inspired By Stamping Festive Frames.  I added gold twine to the tag and mounted it with foam tape.  The Santa image is also mounted with foam tape.  The DSP is from Graphic 45 Twas the Night Before Christmas and the card base is MFT Natural CS.  I added 2 MME green enamel dots in the top two corners.

I hope you will check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges and play along with us this week.

MFTWSC210 - Happy Anniversary

This is their first challenge this year and I am hoping to play along each week.  I missed several last year.  MFT has also started new blogs for the sketch challenges HERE and also for their monthly color challenges HERE.

I made an anniversary card for a couple at church.  I have two to do this month.  The card base is MFT Smooth White and the black mats are Recollections.  The DSP is from Recollections Bold Basics.  The scallop mat is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 20,   The dotted paper and mat are cut with MFT Pierced Rectangle dies.  I put the black back in the die and cut a little off of 2 sides to make the narrow mat.  The flower is made with MFT Layered Rose dies.  I shaped the flowers, staggered the layers and added a black enamel dot to the center.   The sentiment is from a stamp I got at Hobby Lobby, and the only name it has on it is "Innie & Outie".  I used MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Flags Layers dies.  The flower and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate you taking the tine to leave a comment.

Christmas Card Challenges - Joy

Happy Sunday morning Friends.  It is time for a new challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges and the challenge this week is to CASE a previous card of one of the Design Team members.  I chose this card of Lisa Kinds from her Christmas Card Challenge #48 post.
I love the MFT Snowflake Fusion Cover-Up die she used for the background so I used that, but did not add a color behind it. I like the white on white.  I used MFT Poinsettia, cut from SU Cherry Cobbler CS, inked the edges and shaped the petals, and then added a gold Gem Stone by The Paper Studio.  I mounted it with foam tape.   The leaves and "joy" are cut from SU Old Olive.  Joy is cut with MFT Peace, Love, Joy die.  The card base is MFT Smooth White.

Now check out all the great cards by my fellow teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges.  Can't wait to see what you create this week.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a blessed day.

Warm Winter Wishes

Good morning friends.  Today I have a card that I made for 3 different challenges:

Just Us Girls word challenge - Winter.  I used snowflakes and a snowman.

The Paper Players - "Everything Old is New Again"

ETA:  My card was chosen as A Cut Above at The Paper Players.
I have been organizing my dies on magnetic sheets and was getting ready to throw away the packaging for the dies and remembered The Paper Players challenge to create a project using a recycled or re-purposed item, so I cut my MFT Stitched Snow Drifts and Polka Dot Cover-Up from them. (I am saving them for future projects).  Here is a photo showing them cut out:

and the Merry Monday Christmas challenge - use snowflakes
I used MFT Let It Snowflake die and cut the 2 larger snowflakes and added a silver brad and mounted them with foam tape.  The card base is MFT Smooth White and the blue is SU Soft Sky.  I stamped the sweet MFT Holiday Hugs Snowman in Mememto Tuxedo Black on X-Press It Blending Card and colored him with Promakers, fussy cut him out and mounted him with foam tape between the two snow drifts diecuts.  The sentiment is from the same set. The top snow drift is also mounted with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

My card base is MFT Smooth White, the mats are SU Crumb Cake, and the stripe paper is from Teresa Collins Memorabilia 6x6 pad and the brown dot is from Colorbox Natural Expressions 6x6 pad (from Walmart).  The image is a free coloring image I found on Pinterest, (Click Here for the link).  I printed it on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics.  I used a Sakura Clear Glitter Pen around the wings, star and halo.  The sentiment is from MFT Christmas Ornaments.  I cut her out with Spellbinders Labels Seventeen die, and then traced the die on the back of the Crumb Cake mat and hand cut it out.

I am also entering my card in Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge - Anything goes Christmas.

Happy Birthday for JUGS

This is my 2nd post today (scroll down for my Seize the Birthday card).  I wanted to make a card for the Just Us Girls #273 challenge which is a photo inspiration.  This is the first chance I have had to get it done and it is barely in time.

I went with the pink & gray color scheme and also the circles on the spread & pillow.  My card base is MFT Smooth White, SU Basic Gray DSP, and SU Pretty In Pink CS.  I used the MFT Polka Dot Cover Up die for on the white panel and layered it over the striped gray DSP.  The  pink CS is stamped with MFT Grid Background.    The flower is from MFT Upsy Daisy die.  The sentiment is from SU Something to Celebrate, stamped in Basic Gray ink and cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags and matted with the Fishtail Flags Layers die.  The flower and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Seize The Birthday - Party theme

Hello friends.  I wish everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. and what better way to start the new year than by doing a little stamping.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this week  the "toppings" option is a party.  Remember it is only an "option" , the only requirement is that your project be for a birthday.

Now who doesn't like a BBQ party and with such a cute cook too.  I used the MFT PI Grillin' Girl, (discontinued) and the HB sentiment is from MFT Birthday Balloon Joline (discontinued).  The party hat and "party hearty" are from SU Party Hearty set (retired).  I paper-pieced her apron and colored her with Copics.   The card base is MFT Smooth White, the mats are SU Basic Black.  The DSP are from my stash and I am not sure who they are by.   The cross panel is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 1.   I added 2 red enamel dots by Recollections.  That is it for my card.
