CHCC Extra October Guest Designer

I am so delighted that Hazel at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra asked me to be her guest designer for October.  This is a monthly challenge and is sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.  I have chosen two Bugaboo digi images to use for my cards.

My first card uses Deacon Christmas-Elf Presents.  I printed him out on X-Press It Blending card and colored him with Copics and Promarkers, then cut him out with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles. I sponged SU Bashful Blue ink around the edges while it was still in the die. I cut the SU Real Red mat by hand.  The DSP is from Recollections Festivities 6x6 pad.  I embossed the SU Wild Wasabi panel with a Cuttlebug EF and swiped my white ink pad acrossed the raised parts to give it  highlights.  The sentiment is from SU Riveting (retired) stamped in Real Red ink and punched out with a 1-1/4" circle punch. The Real Red mat is cut with MFT Circle Stax die-namics.  The sentiment and image panels are mounted with foam tape. The white card base and mat is Canvas Corp Heavy White Cardstock.

For my second card, I am using Ava Christmas-Mistletoe Fairy.  I also printed her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and Promarkers.  I cut her out with MFT Pierced Circle Stax Die-namics, sponged SU Bashful Blue ink around the edges and matted her on a Spellbinder's Lacey Circle die-cut from SU Cherry Cobbler CS.  I added some sparkle to the star and around her wings with a Sakura Clear Glitter pen (but it doesn't show up in the photo). The red dotted DSP is from SU Festival of Prints Pad (retired) and the lt. green DSP is by The Paper Studio. The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes, stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and punched with SU Word Window punch, and matted on a punched Cherry Cobbler Modern Label.  The 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon is also SU. The mats are SU Cherry Cobbler CS and the base of the card is Canvas Corp. Heavy White Cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards.
I would like to thank Hazel again for allowing me to be her Guest Designer for October.  Be sure and stop by her blog and link up your Christmas cards.  Remember it is always "Anything Goes" as long as it is Christmas.

Happy Birthday

I combined two challenges for my card - I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #194 at Karen Giron's blog and the challenge at The Pink Elephant to use dots and stripes.  I used DSP from My Mind's Eye Dolled Up 6x6 pad that has stripes and dots.   The mats are SU Crumb Cake.  I used Canvas Corp Heavy White Chardstock for the white.  The sentiment is a SU stamp (retired) and is stamped in Crumb Cake ink.  I paper-pierced the edges.  The flower is made using MFT's Upsy Daisy Die-namic and I added a gold pearl to the center.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

Big Birthday Wishes

I made this card for my granddaughter using two challenges:  MFTWSC143 and The Color Throwdown #261.  My card also qualifies for the current The Paper Players tic tac toe challenge - the middle row, patterned paper, embossing, any shade of blue.   I used Marina Mist for my card base and mats.  I added a white layer between the card base and Marina Mist DSP.  I used MFT Circle Stax Sets 1 and 2 and MFT ala Modes Big Birthday Wishes for the image and sentiment.  I stamped the image in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics.  I also stamped the pants on Pacific Point CS and her top on Pacific Point DSP and paper-pieced them. I sponged the edges to add a little dimension.  I cut her out and mounted her with foam dimensionals.  The balloons are So Saffron and Lucky Limeade CS and I also sponged the edges with coordinating ink.  The circle element is embossed with QuikKutz Polka Dots EF.  I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point ink and added So Saffron and Lucky Limeade (?) brads.

Merry Christmas for the Paper Players

ETA:  My card was chosen as A Cut Above at The Paper Players.

Have I told you I love making Christmas cards, well I made another Christmas card following The Paper Players  sketch #164 challenge.
I used all SU cardstock: Whispher White, Cherry Cobler, Old Olive and Always Artichoke.  I embossed the white layer with a Cuttlebug woodgrain EF and matted it with Cherry Cobler punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.  The wreath is made with MFT Winter Wreath Die-namics.  I cut the bow with Cherry Cobler and added an extra punched circle for dimension.  I cut 3 layers of the wreath - 2 Old Olive and 1 Always Artichoke and layered them. I added some small punched circles of Cherry Cobler for my ornaments and blinged them up with SU Dazzling Details.  You can see it better in this close-up photo.

The sentiment is from the Michael's dollar bin and I have had it a couple of years. I stamped it in Cherry Cobler ink and that finishes my card.

Seize The Birthday

Good Morning my stamping friends. It's Thursday and time for another Seize the Birthday challenge.  It is always "Anything Goes" as long as it is birthday.  This week we have a "Toppings" option of using two different ribbons on your card.  Remember this is an "Option" and not a requirement.  If you choose, you can just stick to our usual "Anything Goes" Birthday.

Don't forget to stop by the Seize The Birthday blog and check out the inspiration by all the other Design Team members,  join in the party and link up your birthday card/project.

For my card I just stuck with the usual "Anything Goes".  Here it is:

I used the colors from the Just Us Girls color challenge for my card.
I love this color combo. I used SU Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso CS. The Very Vanilla panel is embossed with the Lacey Brocade EF and matted on Early Espresso. I used Spellbinder's Radiant Rectangles dies to cut the Crumb Cake and center Very Vanilla panels. The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink with a stamp I have had for awhile and it doesn't have a name on it. I added two red Kaiser Pearls and some SU Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon and my card was done. I think it looks like an elegant present.

Warm Winter Wishes

Well it is another soggy, rainy day here in Central Florida, so I am busy stamping away.

I combined the sketch from Seize The Sketch #4  and the Merry Monday #76 snowman challenge for my card today.  The cute snowman is from My Favorite Things - PI Holiday Hugs Snowman. I stamped him with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored him with Promarkers.  I stamped the tiny snowflakes from Inkadinkado Warm Holiday Wishes in SU Bashful Blue ink and also sponged the ink around the edges.  I added some SU Dazzling Details to the snowflakes and they really sparkle, but it doesn't show up in the photo.  The DSP is from My Mind's Eye Sweater Weather 6x6 pad.  The mats are SU Night of Navy CS and the card base and banner are SU Crumb Cake CS.  The banner is cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax die-namics.  The sentiment from the snowman set is stamped in Night of Navy ink.  The Night of Navy snowflake is from a Martha Stewart punch and I added a rhinestone to the center for extra sparkle.  The main image panel is mounted with foam tape.

MFTWSC142

Here is my card for this week's MFTWSC142.  I used SU Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Basic Black CS.  The DSP is from MME Dolled Up 6x6 pad.  I stamped the dots on the bottom panel from MFT's free set with a $60 order, in Crumb Cake ink on the back of the yellow print paper.  I used sentiments from two MFT stamp sets: LJD Birthday Greetings and LJD On The Line.  I used MFT Circle Stax 1 and 2 for the Shine Brightly and MFT Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Flags Layers for the banner.  I embossed the top part of the Crumb Cake layer with SU Tulip Border EF.

Have A Very Merry Christmas

Another Christmas card for my stash.  I love making Christmas cards.
For my card I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches 104 and the color challenge from Merry Monday #75 challenge.

My card base and image panels are SU Very Vanilla CS, Early Espresso CS, Deck the Halls DSP (retired) and MFT Electric Red CS. I stamped the sentiment from Verve's Peace on Earth in MFT Electric Red ink. The banners are cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax and Fishtail Flags Layers Stax. The two ornaments from SU Tags til Christmas and Contempo Christmas are stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold embossing powder and punched with the SU Ornament punch. I added some gold twine to hang my ornaments. The banner is stamped with SU Woodgrain background stamp and Sahara Sand ink to add a little detail. I paper-pierced around the edges of the sentiment panel.  The banner and ornaments are mounted with foam tape.

Grid Technique for JUGS and FESTIVE FRIDAY COLOR CHALLENGE

I made my card for the Grid Technique Challenge at JUGS.  (The photo quality is not that good as I had to take it inside with a flash). This is my first time trying the grid technique, but thought I would give it a try.  I cut a 4" square of Whisper White CS and scored it diagonally every 1/2" in both directions.  I stamped this image from Taylored Expressions Christmas Blessings set in Night of Navy ink and trimed it leaving a small white border.  I mounted this panel on SU Night of Navy CS and added a mat of American Crafts Silver Glitter paper.  This is mounted on Night of Navy DSP with foam tape.  I also added a Silver Glitter paper mat and Night of Navy CS mat.  The sentiment is from the same set stamped in Night of Navy ink and mounted on a Spellbinders Grommet Tag (which I trimmed down on both sides).  I used Night of Navy 1/8" ribbon and mounted  it with foam tape.  The base is Whisper White CS. My card size is 5-1/2 by 4-1/4.

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long challenge

I made this card for the challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Challenge #33 - cute and cuddly Christmas.  I found this CUTE image on my computer while I was looking for another image so I printed it out in color, cut it out with a die from MFT Blueprints 3 Dienamics set.  I sponged SU Bashful Blue ink around the edges while it was still in the die. It is mounted with foam tape  on some DSP panels from MME (blue w/stars) and DCWV (red).  The whisper white panel is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder (but most of it is covered up).  The mats and card base are SU Crumb Cake CS.    This is the first time I have used a pre-colored image but it was so cute I couldn't resist.

I am also linking up with The Paper Players challenge:

Hi for MFTWSC141

MFTWSC141

This is my card I made for MFTWSC141.  I used SU Whisper White and Sage Shadow CS.  The flower paper is from My Mind's Eye Dolled Up 6x6 pad.  The vertical strip is a piece of SU DSP (retired) from my stash.  I used the SU Woodgrain BG stamped in Sahara Sand ink for some texture on the main panel. The butterflies from LJD-Blissful Butterflies are stamped in SU Sage Shadow ink, cut out and adhered by putting Tombo glue on the bodies only.  I lifted the wings for dimension.  The Hi cutout is from MFT Blueprints 7 Dienamics.  The little half circle cutout is also from the same die set.  This panel is mounted with foam tape.

Sweet Baby

My card is for the current A.R. T. Challenge - make a baby girl card.  I stamped this sweet teddy bear image from SU Bear Hugs in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Promarkers.  I sponged Crumb Cake ink around the edges of the image panel cut with a Spellbinders Classic Oval.  I matted this on a Pretty In Pink Floral Ovals diecut.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Itty Bitty Banners, cut it out with the matching SU Framelits and then handcut the mat.  I mounted this with foam tape on a large oval punch, sponged with Pretty In Pink ink.  This panel is mounted over some Pretty In Pink taffeta ribbon. The DSP is from SU Flirtatious DSP (retired) and the card base is Pretty In Pink CS.
I am also linking up to CAS on Sunday - to make a baby card.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Club #74

Good Sunday morning my blogging friends.  Just a quick post of my card for the Merry Monday Christmas Card Club #74- use green and white and woodgrain.  I printed this cute Christmas Ava digital image from Bugaboo Stamps on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and Promarkers.  I added some Stickles to her wings but it doesn't show up very well in the photo.  All the green paper is from the Recollections Festivites Christmas pad.  I used the Tim Holtz Woodgrain EF for the white panel.  The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I used Spellbinders Tag die to mount the sentiment on.  The ribbon is from SU.

Happy Birthday Wishes for the Dynamic Duos

This is my card for the Dynamic Duos #69 challenge.  This is only my second time using Pacific Point, but I think it is a lovely shade of blue (and blue is my favorite color).   I used Canvas Corp Heavy White CS and SU Pacific Point & Old Olive CS.  I din't have any Pacific Point DSP so I made my own with PP ink and MFT's LJD-Textile Backgrounds.  The flowers from SU Flower Shop are stamped in PP ink and the lighter one is stamped off once.  The Old Olive leaves are diecut with SU Little Leaves Sizzlet. I cut them apart and fit them around my flowers.  The sentiment is from SU Simply Sketched stamped in PP ink and cut out with a Spellbinder's Classic Oval and matted with Classic Scalloped Oval.  I lightly sponged a litte blue ink around the sentiment while it was still in the die.  I used the SU Lacey Brocade EF on the white panel.  That's it for my card.

Happy Birthday Wishes for Seize The Birthday Challenge

It's Thursday and time for another Seize The Birthday challenge -
It's an Anything Goes Birthday type of challenge with a "Toppings " Option!

Remember that a Topping is infact an "Option" and not a requirement!
Because not everyone always wants a cherry on top...now do they??
So this week your "Toppings" option is

" Monochromatic."

If you decide to add a topping to your Birthday card/project it
should exude one particular color of your choice!
Remember you can always add neutrals to your design

I went with the "Toppings" option and here is my monochromatic card:

I chose the new SU in-color Crisp Cantaloupe as my monochromatic color and added the neutrals of SU Whisper White and Crumb Cake (kraft).  I used an older Seize The Birthday sketch #19, but I turned the sketch sideways.  I stamped the flower from SU Flower Shop in Crisp Cantaloupe ink and punched it out with the SU Pansy Punch.  I used the Sizzlets Little Leaves die and Martha Stewart fern punch in Crumb Cake CS around the flower.  The sentiment is from SU Simply Sketched set stamped in Basic Gray ink and mounted on a Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle diecut from Crisp Cantalouple CS.  I also added some faux stitching around the sentiment. The base of the card is Crisp Cantaloupe also.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

Happy Anniversary for Mojo Monday309

I just got my card posted in time for the Mojo Monday Challenge.  I made an anniversary card for a couple at church.  I am always needing birthday and anniversary cards for our church members.  The card base is SU Soft Suede CS.  I used some retired SU papers, Spice Cake, along with SU Soft Suede and Very Vanilla CS.  The Very Vanilla panel is embossed with the SU Lacey Brocade EF.  I sewed around the two DSP panels. The banner is cut with MFT Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Flags Layers Die-namics.  The sentiment and frame are from Verve's Love Story, stamped in Soft Suede ink and cut out with the Lovely Marquee Die.  The flower is from Verve's Lean On Me.  I stamped two layers in Soft Suede ink, inked the edges with Crumb Cake ink and added a pearl brad to the center.  The sentiment and flower are mounted with foam tape.

Thanks So Much (OWH - VCMP)

I made another card for the Labor Day weekend challenges at Operation Write Home.   This is challenge #5 to use masking tape on your stamp block and stamp with it.  This is my first time trying this technique. I think it makes a nice background.  This is an all Stampin Up card also (except for the painter's tape)  I used painter's tape and Wild Wasabi ink and then stamped the image from Just Believe set on Whisper White CS.  The sentiment from Simply Sketched is stamped in Gumball Green.  I did some paper-piercing around the edge before mounting it with foam dimensionals.  The Gumball Green CS is embossed with the Vine Street EF.

Thanks (Another card for OWH VCMP)

This is another card for one of the challenges on the Operation Write Home VCMP (Virtual Card Making Party) over the Labor Day weekend.

My card is for challenge #3  here, which is to make a triple die cutting technique card.  I chose this pretty paper from the SU Tea for Two DSP and used two of the Spellbinders Classic Rectangles taped together to cut the 3 separate pieces at one time.  I then matted each piece with SU Always Artichoke CS and then adhered them on top of each other aligning the pattern.  The strip across the middle is done with SU Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  The sentiment is from SU Tagtastic stamped in Alway Artichoke ink, punched with a scallop circle punch, and then I sponged ink on the edges.  This piece is mounted with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

Another Christmas Card

I made another Christmas card with the cute Tilda Angel from Magnolia Stamps - the same image as on yesterday's card.  I had stamped several images so colored her to match the challenge at The Merry Monday Christmas Card Club #73 challenge - use red, green and kraft with a choice of ribbon, twine or burlap.  She is stamped on X-Press It Blending Card with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with Copics.  I paper-pieced her dress with a piece of Crumb Cake DSP.  I added distress stickles to her wings, which doesn't show up in the photo.  I cut her out with Spellbinders Classic Ovals and matted her on a Large Scallop Oval.  I inked around the image panel with Crumb Cake ink while it was still in the die.  The tag is punched with a McGill punch and the sentiment is from MFT's Christmas Ornaments set.  I made a small slit around her hand and glued the twine under it - so she would be holding the tag and mounted both with foam tape.  I also wrapped the twine around the red DSP in a criss-cross pattern.
I used SU Riding Hood Red CS for the card base and Crumb Cake (kraft) CS for the mats. The DSP is from Recollections Festivites 6x6 pad.

I am also linking my card to the following:

craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge #140use ink or paint in any way you wish - as little or as much as you like (I inked the edges of the image panel and tag. I also used ink and a blender pen to add shading to the dress and color her stockings)

Merry Christmas for Freshly Made Sketches 101

I used Freshly Made Sketches 101 to make another Christmas card for my collection.
I stamped this cute Magnolia Angel on X-Press It Blending Card with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics.  I paper-pieced her dress with some DSP from SU Tea For Two and used the Baha Breeze marker for the trim on her dress.  I also added some distress stickles to her wings.   I used a piece of the same DSP and Baha Breeze CS for the banners.  The mats are all SU Baha Breeze CS.  The white is Canvas Corp Heavy White Cardstock.  The white panel is embossed with the SU Finial Press EF.  The sentiment is from SU Come To Bethlehem set.

Labor Day Weekend VCMP at Operation Write Home

labor day vcmp
Operation Write Home is having a "Virtual Card Making Party" (VCMP) on this Labor Day weekend and I am joining in their challenges.  You can read all about it on there blog.   I have made a couple of cards, but haven't done them in order of the challenges. I am still trying to catch up.  Here are the two that I have made:

Challenge #1 is a sketch challenge for a Christmas card using 1" squares.  Here is my card and the sketch:

I used SU Garden Green CS for the base and SU Naturals Ivory CS for the layer embossed with a Sizzix holly EF and for the sentiment strip.  I punched the 1" squares from some retired SU Christmas DSP, using both sides.  The sentiment from SU More Merry Messages is stamped in SU Cherry Cobbler ink.  I added the two SU glitter brads to finish my card.

Challenge #4 is to make a Love card using this sketch:

I flipped the sketch sideways so the sentiment would fit.  I used some papers from Echo Park's Yours Truly 6x6 pad, SU Basic Black CS and X-Press It Blending Card.  The sentiment is from Verve's Hundred Hearts.  I did some paper-piercing around the edges, sponged some Cherry Cobler ink on the edges and added the little punched heart.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appeciate your comments.
