Wedding Card & Layout - Cheery Lyn Designs Challenge

This is a card and layout that I made for a couple at our church that are getting married this weekend. Their colors are pale blue & yellow. I will be framing the layout in a white frame. The center panel is for their photo. I had a lot of fun making both the card and layout.
The card idea is from my good friend Jeanie, The Spotted Chick (click on the link and check out her card, and while you are there check out all her fabulous creations). She made wedding invitations (and a whole bunc of other stuff) for her daughter's wedding last year using this Silhouette Cameo cut file for the card wrap and I just loved it. So with my NEW Cameo I cut the card wrap and made the card similar to Jeanie's. I used SU Whisper White and Bashful Blue CS and DSP. I typed the couple's names & date on my computer and cut it out with a Spellbinders oval & scalloped oval. The card sentiment is from SU Occasional Quotes set. The band for the card is glued only on the back of the card and has a Basic Gray small magnet for the closure. The card is 4-1/2" square.

For the layout I used Bashful Blue CS & DSP. Whisper White, Certainly Celery and the yellow is from The Paper Studio.  I die-cut the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flouish in Celery Green.  The yellow flowers are made with Spellbinder's Rose Creations dies with a SU white brad in the center. I inked the edges with SU Daffodil Delight ink.  The small blue roses are made with MFT's Rolled Rose die.  The date is done on my computer and matted with a Fancy Tags Two die.  The & symbol is also done on the computer and cut with Heart & Scalloped Heart dies.  The names are cut on my Cricut.  The fancy corners are a Provo Craft die.   I embossed the center white panel with a Sizzix EF and punched Bashful Blue boders with a Martha Stewart punch.  I punched the corners of the photo mat with Family Treasures corner punch so the couple could insert a photo of their choice.

I am entering this layout in Cheery Lynn Designs die-cut flowers challenge.  You have to use at least one Cheery Lynn die.  I don't have any of their flower dies, but I do have the Fanciful Flourish and some border dies.  Check out their challenge, just click on the link.

MFTWSC112 - Kick Off Your Boots

This is my card for this week's MFT sketch challenge.  I used SU Crumb Cake and Basic Black CS and the DSP is from Farm House Paper Co.   I stamped the sentiment from MFT Western Sentiments in SU Early Espresso ink on some of the DSP.  The boots from MFT Inspired by The Wild West are stamped in Early Espresso on some SU Sahara Sand CS.  I cut the boots out and inked around the edges with some EE ink.  I also inked around the edges of the sentiment panel with EE ink.  The boots and sentiment are mounted on foam tape.

This is a great sketch and I will probably be using it again.  I love playing along with MFT's weekly sketches.

Seize The Birthday #7 - Happy Birthday

Here is my card for Seize The Birthday #7 challenge, which is a sketch challenge and it has to be feminine.  I made the card for a good friend of mine that is having a birthday this week. I hope she likes it.  The size is 5-1/4" square.

I used SU Very Vanilla and Pumpkin Pie CS for my card and the flower is made from SU Peach Parfait CS.  I punch 3 circles from SU punches, 2-3/8, 1-34, and 1-1/4 scalloped circles.  I curled the edges over my bone folder several times on each side and separated the layers for that faux suede look.  I scrunched each layer up, opended them and then joined them with a yellow brad. I sprayed them with water and dried them with my heat gun, shaping them some while drying them.  The leaves are cut from SU Garden Green CS with the SU Little Leaves Sizzlet, which matches the leaves in the DSP.  The sentiment is from SU Fancy Happy Birthday stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and mounted on a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight diecut.  The DSP is from Basic Gray's Fiction 6x6 pad.

Merry Monday #50 - O Holy Night

This is my card for this week's Merry Monday #50 challenge to make an elegant Christmas card.  The 2nd picture shows the shiny embossed image better and I think it looks very elegant.

I used SU Pewter embossing power to emboss my image and sentiment on X-Press It Blending Card. The image is from Hero Arts Christmas set and the sentiment is from an older Studio G stamp from Michael's Dollar Bin.  The mats are SU Brushed Gold.  I embossed the large white panel with a Cuttlebug Modern Wallpaper EF.  The image and sentiment panels are mounted with foam tape.

Paper Players #133 - Cute As A button

Here is my card for this week's The Paper Players #133 challenge for Buttons & Bows for Baby.   I started with last week's MFT sketch.  I used some White CS from my stash for the base of my card and for the image and sentiment panels.  All the DSP is from an older Martha Stewart baby pad.  I stamped the image from SU A Slice of Life in Mememto Tuexedo Black ink and colored it with a SU Pink Pirouette marker and a Copic marker for the heart and collar band.  I inked the oval with Pink Pirouette ink while it was still in the Nesties Oval die. It is mounted on a Nestie Scalloped Oval that is mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from MFT PI-Sew Cute stamp set stamped in Mememto black ink and cut with MFT Fishtail Flax Stax.  The buttons are from my stash and I tied cute little bows with some white Baker's Twine and adhered them with Glue Dots.

I am also linking this to The Cuttlebug Spot's challenge to use buttons.

MFTWSC111 Happy Birthday

This is my card for this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge.  For my card I used SU Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede CS. The DSP is SU Beau Chateau (retired).  I stamped the Happy Birthday from MFT Western Triple Scoop set for this month (it has a lot of great sentiments) on some of the DSP.  My flower is made with MFT Layered Rose Die-namic, and SU Pink Pirouett CS.  I shaped the leaves on each layer and inked the edges with SU Crumb Cake ink and use a brown brad for the center.  I cut the MFT Leaf-Filled Flouish with SU Soft Suede CS and cut it apart and placed it under the rose.  I also used a litte snip of it for the element on the top right corner.  I also inked the edge of the Pink Pirouette base with Crumb Cake ink to match the flower.

Seize The Birthday #6 Challenge

Here is my card for this week's STB#6 challenge.   Click the link and check it out.  You have until Tuesday, 2/19 at noon to play along.  It is a sketch challenge and it has to be a masculine card.

My card is for my grandson who has a birthday next month.  I used SU Early Espresso and Crumb Cake CS.  The DSP is from SU Well Worn (retired).  I stamped the image in Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake and matted in on a Nestabillitie Lacey Square of Early Espresso CS.  I thought about coloring the image a little but decided to leave it uncolored as I think it looks better this way, with all the shadows in the image.  The image is from My Favorite Things Inspired By the Wild Wild West.  Happy Birthday is from SU Grunge Rock. I thought the style of the font went with the image.

Merry Monday #49 Tis The Season

Here is my card for this week's Merry Monday sketch challenge.  I love this sketch.  It was easy to play with.  My card base is SU Real Red as is the scalloped mat.  The large White panel was embossed with Cuttlebug Holly Ribbons EF. The DSP is from Pebbles Welcome Christmas.  The image is an older Studio G stamp from Michael's stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Promarkers.  I used a Sakura Clear Glitter pen on the candle to give it a little shine & texture.  I inked the edges with SU Crumb Cake ink and cut it out with a Spellbinders Classic Oval and mounted it on the Scalloped.  This panel is mounted on foam tape.  I then added some SU Real Red ribbon (retired).

Seize The Birthday #5 - Birthday Wishes for You

Here is the sketch and here is my card for Seize the Birthday #5 challenge.  It is a sketch challenge and it has to be feminine.

The base of my card is SU Whisper White, then a mat of SU Bashful Blue. The flower DSP is from the same Imaginisce pad I used for yesterday's card and the blue DSP is some old SU paper.  I used Nestabillities Lacey Oval and Classic Oval for my center panel.  The sweet image is from MFT PI-Something Special Just For You.  I stamped the grid stamp from Verve's Making a Statement in Bashful Blue ink on the white oval.  The sentiment on the Nestabillities tag is from the same set. I used SU Pretty In Pink taffeta ribbon and foam dimensionals to mount it on the bottom of my card.  The oval panel and sweet image are also mounted with foam dimensionals.

MFTWSC110 Cute As A Button

I made this card using this week's MFT sketch challenge. (I had to use my flash so it looks a little washed out - much prettier in person).  It is for my daughter who will be giving it to her friend who just had a baby girl.  I thought the sentiment and cute image was perfect for a baby girl.  I used my new goodies from My Favorite Things, PI Cute As a Button stamp set and Button Border Die-namic.  I stamped the image with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on some X-Press It Blending Card, colored her with Copics, paper pieced her top & button jar, then cut her out.  She is mounted with foam tape, as are the buttons and oval panels.  I cut the sentiment apart so it would fit better on the oval panel which was cut with Nestabillities Ovals and matted on a Scallped Oval.  The buttons are from the Button Border Die-namic and cut out of Pretty In Pink CS.  All the DSP is from an older Imaginisce card pack I had.  The cardstock is SU Whisper White and Bashful Blue for the mats.

Here is the MFT sketch.

Merry Monday #48

I made this card for the Merry Monday #48 color challenge.  Boy, was it different making a Christmas card with these colors.

I found a new challenge site http://stilladdinktive.blogspot.com/  and used their sketch challenge for my card.  You can use the sketch & colors or either one, so I chose the sketch and the colors from the Merry Monday challenge.  I rotated the sketch so I could add the ornament for the oval element, like it is hanging from the pine branches.

All supplies are from Stampin Up (except the Martha Stewart pearl).  I used Whisper White & Basic Gray CS and Pumpkin Pie DSP.   I cut 2 Top Note die-cuts from Basic Gray & WW, cutting the white one around the dotted edge.  I used the Greetings of The Season for my sentiment and  Watercolor Winter for the pine branches, stamped in Basic Gray ink.  I stamped the ornament from Ornament Keepsakes in Marina Mist ink and cut it out, mounted it with foam dimensionals over the Marina Mist Taffeta ribbon, then added a MS pearl to the center.

MOJO279 Happy Anniversary

Here's my card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch.   I love this sketch and made an anniversary card for a couple at our church.  The DSP is from a Creative Imaginations Loolah pad.  I stamped the panel behind the oval with a grid stamp from Verve's Making A Statement to add a little more texture.  The sentiment is from Verve's Love Story.  I used MFT's Upsy Daisy Die-namic for the flower & leaves and inked the edges with SU Lucky Limeade ink.  The rhinestone is from Michael's. The ribbon is some older SU ribbon from my stash.  The ovals are made with Spellbinders Classic Ovals and Scalloped Ovals.  The white & black CS is from SU.

MFTWSC109 Thinking of You Makes Me Happy

Here's my card for this week's sketch challenge at My Favorite Things blog.  This is my version of a CAS (clean and simple) card.  I didn't add any embellishments or flowers (I love to add flowers to my projects), so this could be for a gal or guy.  I love this sentiment from MFT's  You Make My Day stamp set.  It also has a lot of other great sentiments.  I stamped it in SU Night of Navy ink and cut it out with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax and Fishtail Flags Stax Layers.  The two navy brads are from my stash. The blue border is cut with MFT Open Scallop Edge die-namic.  My card base is white CS from my stash and the blue is SU Night of Navy.  The DSP is from Farm House Paper Co. Fair Skies pack.

Seize The Birthday #4

This is my card for this week's Seize The Birthday challenge.  It is a sketch challenge and also it has to be masculine.  I flipped the banner and element at the bottom as I thought the sentiment flowed better from the left side.

For my card I used the PI Cowboy by My Favorite Things. I love this little fella.  He is so adorable and reminds me of my great-grandson, who will be 3 next month.  This card will be going to him for his birthday.  I stamped the image on X-Press It Blending Card in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Copics & Promarkers and paper-pieced his outfit.  The papers are from the MME Indie Chic - Nutmeg 6x6 pad.  I cut the image panel and mat with Nesties Classic Ovals & Scalloped Ovals.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is cut with a MFT Fishtail Flags Stax die.  The little star is cut from silver paper with a die from MFT Country Charms Die-namics.
