Thank You Cards for Operation Write Home

These are two cards I made to send to Operation Write Home for our heroes.  One is feminine and one is masculine.  OWH is having an awesome blog hop for the Memorial Day weekend.  Check it out here.  You could win a prize for hopping a long. There are 146 participants, some companies also, and a lot of inspiration.

I made my first card following Color Throwdown Challenge #243 and  Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. The card base and sentiment panel are white.  The sentiment and yellow flower are from Verve stamps.  The flower is from On Occasion and is stamped in Daffodil Delight ink on DD designer paper, and I sponged the edges also.  The sentiment stamp is a little goodie I got free in one of my orders from Verve. The frame is from Our Daily Bread Designs stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and cut out with Spellbinders Lable 26. I trimmed around the stamped image and mounted it on a Black mat cut with the same die. The striped paper is Marina Mist and the ribbon is also Marina Mist.  I punched the black border with SU Scallop Border punch.  The Wild Wasabi leaves are punch with SU Bird Builder punch.

I would also like to include my first card in Linda's Catered Crop Mellow Yellow Recipe Swap since it has Daffodil Delight as the main ingredient.  Catered Crop Recipe Swap Button

The second card uses SU Baha Breeze and Basic Black CS. The designer paper is from a retired pack.  I punched the stars with a SU punch and the "thanks" is cut with a Cuttlebug die I have had for quite awhile.  I saw it used on one of the cards in the OWH hop and had to dig it out to use it.  The brads are from my stash.  The center BB panel is embossed with a harlequin EF and I also pierced around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.   I appreciate your comments.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn
