The Paper Players and Merry Monday

Here is my card for this week's The Paper Players sketch and Merry Monday challenges.  I am loving these challenges.  Making a Christmas card each week is fun and this way I will have a stash of them come December.  Click on the names and it will take you to their blogs so you can play along with the challenges if you like.  For the Merry Monday challenge you choose a row like in Tic Tac Toe and create a Christmas card.  I chose the bottom row, designer paper, red and green, and ribbon.
My DSP is from the DCWV & Pebbles Christmas pads.
I stamped the image from SU Welcome Christmas in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and cut it out with  a Labels Four Nestabillitie.  I sponged Sahara Sand ink around the die before taking it off. I traced around the die to cut out my SU Garden Green mat as the next larger die was too big.  I mounted this panel with foam dimensionals. The SU Real Red grossgrain ribbon matches the colors better in real life, it looks too bright in the photo with the light reflecting on it.  The white scalloped border under the red panel was made with a SU border punch.

MFT Scrap Sketch #4 - Happy 21st Birthday

This is my layout for My Favorite Thing's Scrap Sketch #4.  The photos are from my granddaughter's 21st birthday.  I chose papers to match her cake and shirt.  The teal, black and zebra print are from The Paper Studio and the pink & teal print is some older Paper Pizzazz by Hot Off The Press.   I used MFT's LD-Document It - Captured Memories stamp set for the sentiments (which are mounted with foam dimensionals) and MFT Fishtail Flag Stax & Fishtail Flag Stax Layers for the banner.  I printed Happy and Birthday on my computer and used the numbers from MFT's Vanity License Plate set for the 21.  The st is from a SU set Memorable Moments.  I added some Baker's Twine to the banner and used SU brads to attach it to my layout.

Two For One - Joy To The World

I combined two challenges for my card , Freshly Made Sketches and Merry Monday Challenge (use a bird on your Christmas card).  Click on the challenge names to go to their blog and check out the challenges.

I was looking through my stamps trying to find a Chirstmas bird stamp when I found this cute little chick from Stampendous that I had for some time and had never used it. I inked her up in Mememto Black and stamped her on some Image Plus White CS and added a little color with Promarkers. I paper-pieced the letters and typed "to the world" on my computer and cut it out with a MFT Fishtail Flag Stax die-namic. I added a SU red brad to the banner, shaped it a little and adhered it with some dimensionals in a couple of places.  The ovals are cut with Spellbinders. The Real Red panel was embossed with a Sizzix EF.  The paper is from Pebbles Welcome Christmas pad and SU Basic Black CS for the mats.

ETA:  Yay, my card was an Honorable Mention for the Merry   Monday challenge.

MFTWSC107 - You Are The Only One For Me

I made a Valentine card with this week's MFTWSC107 sketch. (oops, I just noticed that I left off the little flag element, but it still follows the sketch).  I think this will be my hubby's valentine as he is the Only One For Me.   We will be married 50 years in July.

I used SU Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla cardstock.  The heart border is Rose Red CS and the papers are from my new My Mind's Eye Love Me pad that I got at Michael's this weekend.  The heart border is made with MFT Layered Heart Border and the sentiment is from this month's free Triple Scoop Set (free with a $60 order from MFT).  The sentiment panel is cut with Spellbinder's Classic Oval and mounted with foam tape to a Classic Scallop Oval, and then mounted to the card base with more foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Merry Monday #45 - Merry Christmas

Here is my card for this week's Merry Monday #45 sketch challenge.  The challenge is to make a Christmas Card each week.  I missed last week's color challenge but hope to do the challenge each week to have a good supply of Christmas cards done before Christmas this year.  My friend came over today and we made these cards and a Valentine card. Such fun to get together and stamp and play with new goodies.

My card base is SU Always Artichoke, as well as the mats.  The paper is from DCWV Heirloom Christmas Stack.  It has some beautiful papers in it.  The leaves and poinsettias are shiny, but it doesn't show up in the photo.  I used the Spellbinders poinsetia die with SU Cherry Cobbler CS and mounted it on a SU Verry Vanilla Circle and Always Artichoke scallop circle cut with Spellbinders dies.   I added Studio G Rhinestones to the cneter and the whole panel is mounted with foam tape to the base.  The sentiment is from SU More Merry Messages stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla banner and matted with Always Artichoke.  The red button is from my stash.

The Paper Players and Seize The Birthday

I combined two challenges for my card, Seize The Birthday #2 (sketch & masculine) and The Paper Players Color Challenge #128.  I have a hard time with masculine cards and thought these colors would be perfect to make a masculine card.

I love using sketches and the one from Seize the Birthday is a nice one, love the layers.  The image is a Tim Holtz stamp, stamped with Basic Gray ink and is mounted with dimensionals on a Basic Gray mat cut with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle die and mounted with more dimensionals to the card base. I sponged the image panel edges with Basic Gray ink and also the Happy Birthday edges.  The SU DSP are from Festival of Prints and Tea for Two.  The buttons are from my stash.

MFTWSC105 Dress Up Diva

I made this card for last week's MFTWSC105, but I have been having problems with uploading and posting on blogger.
I love the cute little PI Dress Up Diva from MFT and I stamped her on some new X-Press It Blending CS, colored her with Copics & Promarkers, paper-pieced her hat and dress. I also added some tiny pearls for her necklace (that took awhile) and a colored pearl to the flower in her hat. I also added a little shading to the ruffles in her dress. I used MME Lavender paper and SU Crumbcake CS, SU Blushing Bride ribbon. The MFT Die-namics I used are Looped Border, Circle Stax 1 & 2.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Comments are greatly appreciated.

MOJO275 Birthday Wishes

Here is my card for this week's MojoMonday sketch.

It is a birthday card I made for our great-granddaughter who is turning 12. She is not into a lot of frilly things so I didn't add flowers and used different colors than I usually do, which is some older Graphic 45 papers I had in my stash. The base of my card is SU Crumb Cake and the mats are SU Basic Black. I used My Favorite Things Cicle Stax 1&2 Die-namics for my circle & mat, which is on dimension foam. The ribbon is some older SU ribbon. I added a pocket on the inside with some of the DSP to slip in some birthday cash for her.

Thanks for stopping by. Comments are greatly appreciated.

All supplies are listed above.

One of my granddaughter's is doing photography and took these pictures of my daughter, granddaughter & her family. I think she did a great job. I used a lot of my new MFT dies and stamp sets. I used the Woodgrain Fence die-namic to make my faux railroad tracks for one of the vertical elements. The largest Designer Label Stax Set 2 die for the "together" sentiment from My Favorite Sentiments stamps. I stamped the title with Vanity License Plate stamp set on a banner cut with the Fishtail Flags Stax die. I also stamped the banner with the woodgrain stamp from LJD Howdy stamp set. The date on the banner is from LLD Journal It Calendar Basics. I also used my new Framing Flourishes die (love it). Whew, I hope that wasn't too long for you.
