Two Cards for Viva la Verve December 2013

I have two cards to share today.  I just finished the Viva la Verve Dec. 2013 sketch challenges for Week 2 and Week 4.  Here are my cards:
I made this card for a couple at church and used SU Venetian Romance DSP, Whisper White, Soft Suede & Crisp Canteloupe CS. The heart is from Verve's Chevron Love stamped in Crisp Canteloupe ink and cut out with Verve's Jotted Heart die.  The flowers from Sunny Days is stamped in Soft Suede ink on Crisp Canteloup CS and cut out by hand. I added a foam dimensional between the layers, and a button with jute twine and adhered it to the heart. I matted the DSP with Soft Sued CS and stitched around the edges.  I used Spellbinders Lacey Circles die and MFT Circle Stax dies, added them over the DSP panel and then mounted the heart with foam dimensionals.  Happy Anniversary (no name on stamp) is stamped in Soft Suede ink and cut out with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax dies and mounted with foam dimensionals.

For this card I used the new SU Strawberry Slush DSP & CS, along with Whisper White and Pistachio Pudding CS.  The Whisper White panel is embossed with SU Finial Press EF, and the 1" circles are embossed with SU Snowburst EF.  The flowers from Verve's One Person are stamped in Strawberry Slush ink on WW CS and I sponged Pink Piroutte ink over the flowers (double layers) and added Strawberry Slush ink to the edges. The leaves were stamped on Pistachio Pudding CS in Wild Wasabi ink.  The sentiment from Hope Blooms is stamped in Strawberry Slush ink and I handcut the flagged end and adhered the one end under the flower.

Playing Favorites Diva Dare

I have been wanting to participate in the Playing Favorites Diva Dare challenge - to pick one of your favorite Verve creations in 2013 or create a new one.  I finally had time to peruse my Verve creations and picked these two (it is hard to pick just one, but I love the sentiments and flowers on both of them - love Verve's flower stamps).
You can read about this card on this post.

and this one on this post.

Merry Christmas

I made another Christmas card.  This one is for Merry Monday (use an animal on your card) and Simon Says Stamps Monday challenge  (stamp something) and Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge (bling it on).

I cut this adorable penguin using my Silhouette Cameo and pieced him together.  The blue DSP is MME and I used the Simon Says Stamps Falling Snow template and some molding paste to add texture. I sprinkled SU Dazzling Diamonds over the molding paste while it was still wet to add some sparkle.  I tore the snow banks and shaped the edges with my fingers.  The sentiment is from SU Occasional Quotes.  The mat is SU Basic Black and the base is MFT Smooth White CS.

Dynamic Duos - Happy Anniversary

Happy Saturday everyone.  It's time for another challenge over at the Dynamic Duos and it's "Black Tie" week.  The colors are Black and Cherry Cobbler with the dessert OPTION of "Sparkle".
I made an anniversary card using the Viva la Verve Dec. 2013 Week 3 sketch.
VLVDec13Week3Sketch
The Love DSP is from Echo Park Yours Truly 6x6 pad and the stripe is SU Cherry Cobbler DSP.  The mats are SU Basic Black and the white is MFT Smooth White CS.   The sentiment is from Verve' s Love Story and the large heart is from Verve's Chevron Love stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and cut out with Verve's Wavy Heart die.  The smaller Cherry Cobbler hearts are cut with Verve's From The Heart die.  I punched the bottom of the panel with SU Scallop Border punch and tied a Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon around the top.  I added the red glitter brad and the Recollections black rhinestone flourish for some "sparkle".

Now head over to the Dynamic Duos and check out what my fellow Teammates have created for your inspiration. You can find out all the details on how you can join in the challenge.  I hope you find time to play along during this busy Christmas week.

I wish you all a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas for JUGS #219

The challenge at Just Us Girls this week is the Faux Silk Technique.  This is my first time trying this technique and I really like it.  I am having so much fun trying different challenges and techniques.
I stamped the snowflake from SU Winter Post in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on some glittered tissue paper, glued it to Whisper White CS and then cut it out with Spellbinders Label Seventeen. I hand cut the black mat. The Faux Silk showed up really nice before I die-cut it.  You can see it better in real life.  The green dot DSP is by Simple Stories. The card base is SU Cherry Cobbler, the white is SU Whisper White and the mats are SU Basic Black.  The sentiment is from SU More Merry Messages, stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black and cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax and Layers.  The Spellbinders Poinsettia is cut from Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke. I added a large rhinestone to the center of the poinsettia and smaller ones to the centers of the snowflakes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Seize the Birthday

It is Thursday and time for another Seize The Birthday challenge.  It is anything goes birthday and no "Toppings" option this week. Hope you find time during this busy season to join the linky party.
Here is my card:
I used the Mojo Monday #324 sketch
I used My Favorite Things ala mode Time to Celebrate stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card.  I colored her with Copics and cut her out with MFT Pierced Rectangles die. The mats are SU Choc. Chip CS, and the card base is MFT Smooth White.  The DSP is from Imaginisce Build-A-Card Pad, B-Day Bash.  The Happy Birthday to You is also from the DSP and I hand-cut the banner.  The SU Baha Breeze scallop strip is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 1.  The stars are cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 8.  I mounted them with foam dimensionals and added a rhinestone to the centers.

My fellow Design Team members have created some wonderful cards to inspire you, so hop on over to Seize the Birthday and check them out.  You can find out all the info on how you can play along also.

Little Angels

Aren't these "Little Angels" from Stampendous just the sweetest.  I stamped them with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored them with Copics.  I added some SU Dazzling Details to their wings and the candle light, and some white flower soft for the snow.  I added 2 shades of blue ink around the edges and mounted the image on a Spellbinders' Classic Rectangle cut from MFT Electric Red CS.  This panel is mounted with foam tape on to some DSP from Teresa Collins' Santa's List 6x6 pad, matted with more Electric Red CS.  The base is MFT Smooth White CS.  I added a MS Snowflake punched from American Crafts Red Glitter Paper, mounted with foam tape also.

I am joining in the following challenges:
Merry Monday #87 - Create a card with mittens on it (my Little Angels are wearing mittens)

Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge - Let it snow (snowflakes on my paper and snow on the ground)
Casual Fridays #123 - Let it snow.

Dynamic Duos - Happy Birthday Wishes

Yippee, it's Saturday and time for another Dynamic Duos challenge.  This week is "Subtly Yours" and the colors are Marina Mist and Crumb Cake. I love this color combination.

I used all SU supplies for my card:  Everything Eleanor stamp set for the Crumb Cake flourish and Marina Mist flowers.  The sentiment is from Simply Sketched in Marina Mist.  I used the Top Note die and cut  Whisper White and Crumb Cake layers.  I trimmed the white layer at the perforation marks. The flowers are mounted with foam dimensionals and the top note panel is also mounted with dimensionals.  The card base is Marina Mist, a layer of Whisper White and then the Marina Mist DSP.  I also added a Marina Mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon.

Now head over to the Dynamic Duos and check out what the other designers have created for your inspiration.  You can find out all the details on how you can play along with the challenge.

Season's Greetings for JUGS #218

I used the sketch from Just Us Girls #218 for my card.  I substituted the poinsettia for the round panel.
The card base is MFT Smooth White CS. The mats are SU Gumball Green and Rose Red CS.  The DSP is from MME Merry Little Christmas 6x6 pad, except the green is SU Gumball Green.  The Rose Red poinsettia is cut with Sizzix Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia die. I shaped the leaves with a stylus and my fingers, and added 3 rhinestones to the center.  The punched strip is made with SU Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch.  The sentiment is from Verve Holiday Treats in Rose Red ink.  I punched it out with a retired SU punch.

This also matches the colors at Pals Paper Arts, except I didn't have Wild Wasabi, so I used Gumball Green instead.

The Dynamic Duos #82 - Happy Birthday

Happy Satuday morning my friends.  It's time for another color challenge from the Dynamic Duos. This week we have a "Bold & Cheery" combo of Primrose Petals and Gumball Green.

I started to make another Christmas card with these colors, but decided on a birthday card instead.  I used SU Whisper White, Primrose Petals and Gumball Green CS and Primrose Petals DSP.  The middle white layer is embossed with the Sizzix Trellis EF.  I stamped the flower from SU Secret Garden in Primrose Petals ink and the leaves in Gumball Green ink and then cut them out with the matching dies.  The sentiment is SU Fancy Birthday (?) (ret. - but I love the font and use this one a lot).  I did some piercing around the edges of the sentiment panel and mounted it with foam dimensionals.  The flower & leaves are also mounted with dimensionals. I finished it off with  Primrose Petals ribbon & bow.

The layout I used is from Viva la Verve Dec 2013 Week 1 sketch.

Now hop on over to the Dynamic Duos and see what fabulous creations my fellow design team members have to share with you.  I hope you get to join us this week.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping,

Christ The Savior Is Born

I am playing along with Merry Monday #86 challenge over on Lesley's blog Always Playing With Paper.  The challenge is to use the "chalkboard technique" on your Christmas card.  For my card layout I used an older Deconstructed Sketch #105.

DS105
My card base is Whisper White, the mats are all Basic Black and the DSP is from Simple Stories December Documented 6x6 pad.  I stamped the sentiment and frame from Verve's Unto Us in Whisper White Craft ink on some Tim Holtz chalboard like paper and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I used Verve's Classy Label die to cut it out.  The holly leaves are a MS punch and I punched separate berries from Cherry Cobbler CS.  The frame and holly leaves are mounted with foam dimensionals.  The border is done with SU Scallop Trim border punch. I added a Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon and my card was done.
I am going to link this to Verve's December Diva Dare as it has some of my favorite new Verve stamps:  Unto Us and the Classy Label Die
Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.

Warm Birthday Wishes

It's time for a new challenge at Seize The Birthday.  It's always anything goes, but this week we have an option for you to use anything to do with winter.  Here's my card.

I created my card for a friend who has a birthday this week.  I used the sweet PI Warm Wishes from MFT.  She is all dressed up in her warm winter coat and hat paper-pieced with Studio Calico Magical DSP (red).  The mats are from the same paper and the card base is SU Pink Pirouette.  The background DSP with snowflakes (more winter stuff) is from My Mind's Eye Merry Little Christmas 6x6 pad.  She is colored with Copics and mounted with foam dimensionals on Spellbinders Classic Oval and Scallop Oval die-cuts.  I added a balloon from SU Crazy for Cupcakes.  I made a mask of the image and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the balloon string placed like she is holding it. I paper-pieced the balloon with SU Pink Piroutte CS.  The sentiment is created using "Warm" from the same PI set and "Birthday Wishes" from MFT's ala mode-Big Birthday Wishes.

I am also going to enter this in The Pink Elephant Challenge - Winter

Stop by the Seize the Birthday blog and check out the rest of the creations by the Design Team and find out all the details on how you can play along. Can't wait to see what you create.

Season's Greetings for JUGS #217

ETA;  Woohoo, my card won Chic of the Week
JUGS Chick of the Week #217
I had to think awhile about what I wanted to do for the JUGS #217 challenge to made a one layer card with a winter theme.  I like to add layers and embellishments. :)

My card base is SU Bashful Blue and I used my new Simon Says Stamps Falling Snow stencil and molding paste to create the falling snow.  I added some SU Dazzling Diamonds Glitter while it was still wet for some bling.  It doesn't show up very well in the photo, but is really pretty IRL.
I punched a 1" circle and used the negative to sponge on my moon.  I brayered Whisper White ink across the bottom to created some snowdrifts and added touches of my white gel pen to the snow and also to the trees.  I used Mememto Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the trees from Lovely As A Tree, the sentiment from More Merry Messages, and the deer from Winter Post, all from Stampin Up.
I really like how it turned out and may even make some more before Christmas.

I am also linking to Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge - Make your own background.

Another Christmas card for my stash.  Now I can start mailing them out.  I used MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge #152 and turned it sideways.   The card base and sentiment panel is MFT Smooth White CS.  The sentiment from MFT Grand Holiday Greetings is stamped in MFT Brick Red ink and matted with Brick Red CS.  I used the button die from MFT Blueprints 6 Die-namics with Brick Red CS. I tied some Hemp Cord in the buttons.  The striped paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas cut with MFT Blueprints 8 Die-namics.  The SU Early Espresso scallop border is also from the Blueprints 8.  The SU Crumb Cake panel is embossed with the SU Snowburst EF.

Tidings of Comfort and Joy for the Dynamic Duos #81

It is Saturday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Dynamic Duos.  This week you are to use Midnight Muse and a color of your choice.  I chose to use Silver with the Midnight Muse.
Here's my card.

The card base is SU Whisper White, a layer of American Crafts Silver Glitter paper and then Midnight Muse DSP (retired).  The snowflakes, frame and sentiment are from Verve's Unto Us set stamped in Midnight Muse ink.  I cut the frame out with Verve's Classy Label Die and mounted it with foam dimensionals.  The snowflakes were cutout with Verve's Reindeer Fun die set.  I added a rhinestone to the center of each snowflake and mounted them with foam dimensionals also.  The ribbon is from SU and I added a silver cord bow to the ribbon bow.

I am also linking my card to Festive Friday Challenge - Use any of their past challenge graphics -I used snowflakes.

Christmas Blessings for Merry Monday #85

The challenge for Merry Monday #85 is to create an all white or ivory base card, with brown or kraft for the accents and sentiment.
I used Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles for the 3 layers so my card base is 6-1/4 x 4-1/4", a little larger than the standard size but I love the way it turned out.  Each layer is mounted with foam tape.  I used MFT Smooth White CS.  The sentiment from Verve's Christmas Blessings is stamped in SU Soft Suede ink.  I added some Platinum Liquid Pearls around the oval and some brown ribbon around the middle layer.  The sentiment and the ribbon look black in the photo, but they ARE brown.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.
