My First Magnolia Card

I recently order a couple of Tilda stamps by Magnolia as I had seen so many pretty cards made with her. This is my first try at coloring her and also trying the Promarkers. Needless to say, I do need a lot of practice with coloring, but I think she turned out o.k. except for a couple of booboos. One is covered up by the paperpieced shopping bag.   The flower is made from EKSuccess large & med. retro flower punch. The large flower is punched with a MS punch to give it a different look.  I saw this idea on some other blogs I have visited and I really like the way it turns out.  All pieces were sponged with SU Soft Suede ink.
Supplies:  Cardstock:  SU Naturals White, Crumb Cake, and Riding Hood Red.
DSP:  October Afternoon (Thrift Shop);   Ink: Memento Black (for image) and SU Soft Suede;  Accessories:  MS Fern and EK Success Retro Flower punches; SU brad; SU Riding Hood Red ribbon;
Nestabilities.  Assorted Promarkers.

Happy Birthday

This is a BD card I made for our pastor whose birthday is this week. I guess I am like everyone else and find it a little hard to make masculine cards.  I like the frilly, flowers, ribbon, etc.
For the card I used SU Crumb Cake and Naturals White cardstock. The blue CS is some older DCWV paper and the pattern paper is from the Boys to Men pad by Hot Off The Press. The birthday stamp is an older one I picked up at JoAnn's. It is stamped in SU Night of Navy ink. The gold brads are also from JoAnn's.  The white panel is embossed with SU Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I used my paper crimper on the Crumb Cake strip and added the rick rac piece cut from SU Tasteful Trims die.
My card is based on Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #53 (http://inkspirations-challenges.blogspot.com/) and I am entering it in Jeanie's (http://thespottedchick.blogspot.com/) "That's Krafty Thursday" challenge.

Faux Quilted Heart

ETA:  I found the blog with the technique for the heart.  It is http://www.juliedavison.com/ (it is called Faux Iris Twist)  Hope this helps anyone interested in this technique.

I saw this technique on a blog (can't remember which one, I will try to find it and link to it) and wanted to try it.  I used similar papers for the heart (Sending Love - retired SU), Very Vanilla CS, Real Red and Crumb Cake CS.  I stamped the Crumb Cake base in Crumb Cake ink with the En Francis BG stamp, added the strip of VV punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and a RR strip punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  I then added the RR and VV layers. I used the Mat pack & Piercing tool to pierce the holes around the VV square and added little punched hearts in the corners.  The quilted heart techinque was created by punching a large heart in the center of my 3" VV square and layering the strips behind the heart. I used dimensionals to add this layer to my card.  I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.
