Best Wishes

This is a card I made to go along with the framed layout for a wedding gift. The base is SU Very Vanilla CS, the striped paper is by Rusty Pickle. I used a MS border punch on the black CS and Spellbinders Cartnation dies for the flower and added a black pearl from my stash for the center.. The heart stamp is by Verve, as is the "Best Wishes" sentiment which is stamped in SU Cherry Cobbler.  The border is from SU Vintage Vogue set stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

A Wedding Gift

This is a layout I made and am framing it and giving it to a friend for a wedding gift.  I used a photo from their wedding invitation, scanned it and changed to b/w. I also used the sentiment and the date in the hearts on vellum from the invitation.  I hope she likes it. I think it turned out really great.
I used DCVW and SU cardstocks, Rusty Pickle striped paper, MS border punches, Spellbinders carnation dies and francy tag die. The black pearls are from my stash. The flourishes are a My Favorite Things die and the title is cut from the Elegant Cakes Cricut cartridge.
The corners are made by cutting a 2" square and then cutting into triangles by cutting from opposite corners, using a border punch centering it on the long edge of the triangle.  It is not my idea. I saw it on another blog, but don't remember which one.  I thought it was a neat idea. You can use any border punch.

I used the Sizzlets Lots of Tags die for my 2 tags.  Ink: Early Espresso.  Stamps used are Sincere Salutations, Vintage Vogue and Tiny Tags. Sweet layout - My Sketch World

I completed another layout. This is another of my great-granddaughters. She turned 5 recently and has started Kindergarten.  She is so excited to be going to school with her big sister.  I had the first page done and needed to do a 2nd page with the 2 pictures.  I found the Sept. 1st sketch on My Sketch World and it was just right for the second page.
I used CTMH cardstock, pattern paper from my stach, rhinestone brads, prima flowers, and ribbon. The scallop square was cut on my Cricut (Elegant Edges) and the title was cut from Storybook. The leaves were done with SU Sizzix Little Leaves die and Martha Stewart fern punch. I think that covers everything.

I finally did a new layout.  This is my great-granddaughter when she was in the 1st grade. She just started 3rd grade this year.  Her younger sister started kindergarten, so there will be more layouts to do.
I used all Basic Grey except for the pink stripe (K& Co.). Martha Stewart border punches.  I used my new Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for the the titles and scallop circle.  The bling is from Michael's.

Always & Forever

This is a wedding card I made for my granddaughter's friend that is getting married this weekend. The flowers on the cake really match IRL but look off color in the picture.   The stamp set is from Hampton Arts and is stamped in Memento black ink on WW SU cardstock. I cut the cake image with my nesties and just cut around the sentiment freehand. I inked the edges with Brilliant Blue ink and matted them on Brushed Silver CS and Brilliant Blue CS cut with the SU top note die, then Brilliant Blue DSP and CS, and then on the card base of Whisper White.  The ribbon is also from Stampin Up.

Another Birthday Card

This is another birthday card for one of our great-granddaughters birthday in May. She will be 5 and looks kind of like this sweet Swiss Miss Rosalie by C.C. Designs stamps.  I used Promarkers and PrismaColor Pencils to color the image and add some grass.  I inked around the image with SU Bashful Blue ink while it was still in the oval nestie and mounted it on a scalloped oval.  The DP is from MME Stella & Rose Hazel pad, and is matted with SU Choc. Chip. The card base is SU Crumb Cake (Kraft).  The sentiment is from a MFT Jolinne set matted with Choc. Chip nestie tag and SU Pretty In Pink taffeta ribbon. The roses are by Recollections from Michael's and I added some MS fern punches.

FAMILY

This is a photo of our family taken around 1972. I have been wanting to make a layout using it for awhile and finally did it.  I used all Basic Gray papers from the Granola pad and inked all the edges with SU Soft Suede ink. The flowers are made with the Sizzix Tattered Florals die by Tim Holtz. The leaves are from the Build A Blossom SU stamp & punch set. I also used the MS fern punch and an EK Success border punch.  The swirl and title are cut from the Home Decor cartridge on my Cricut.

I would like to wish everyone a Blessed Easter.

Just For You

This is a card a made for a friend.  All supplies are from Stampin Up.  The card base is Crumb Cake (Kraft), the DSP is Elegant Soiree. The stamp sets are Vintage Vogue and Afterthoughts (a hostess set). I stamped the flowers in Baha Breeze and inked the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede and behind the image is a swirly image from Vintage Vogue stamped in Crumb Cake but stamped off first. I used 5/16" neutral brads for the flower centers. I angled the Baha Breeze ribbon and punched border for a different effect. I used an antique brad for the center of the bow. I ran the light DSP through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I think that about covers it. Hope you like it.

My First Magnolia Card

I recently order a couple of Tilda stamps by Magnolia as I had seen so many pretty cards made with her. This is my first try at coloring her and also trying the Promarkers. Needless to say, I do need a lot of practice with coloring, but I think she turned out o.k. except for a couple of booboos. One is covered up by the paperpieced shopping bag.   The flower is made from EKSuccess large & med. retro flower punch. The large flower is punched with a MS punch to give it a different look.  I saw this idea on some other blogs I have visited and I really like the way it turns out.  All pieces were sponged with SU Soft Suede ink.
Supplies:  Cardstock:  SU Naturals White, Crumb Cake, and Riding Hood Red.
DSP:  October Afternoon (Thrift Shop);   Ink: Memento Black (for image) and SU Soft Suede;  Accessories:  MS Fern and EK Success Retro Flower punches; SU brad; SU Riding Hood Red ribbon;
Nestabilities.  Assorted Promarkers.

Happy Birthday

This is a BD card I made for our pastor whose birthday is this week. I guess I am like everyone else and find it a little hard to make masculine cards.  I like the frilly, flowers, ribbon, etc.
For the card I used SU Crumb Cake and Naturals White cardstock. The blue CS is some older DCWV paper and the pattern paper is from the Boys to Men pad by Hot Off The Press. The birthday stamp is an older one I picked up at JoAnn's. It is stamped in SU Night of Navy ink. The gold brads are also from JoAnn's.  The white panel is embossed with SU Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I used my paper crimper on the Crumb Cake strip and added the rick rac piece cut from SU Tasteful Trims die.
My card is based on Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #53 (http://inkspirations-challenges.blogspot.com/) and I am entering it in Jeanie's (http://thespottedchick.blogspot.com/) "That's Krafty Thursday" challenge.

Faux Quilted Heart

ETA:  I found the blog with the technique for the heart.  It is http://www.juliedavison.com/ (it is called Faux Iris Twist)  Hope this helps anyone interested in this technique.

I saw this technique on a blog (can't remember which one, I will try to find it and link to it) and wanted to try it.  I used similar papers for the heart (Sending Love - retired SU), Very Vanilla CS, Real Red and Crumb Cake CS.  I stamped the Crumb Cake base in Crumb Cake ink with the En Francis BG stamp, added the strip of VV punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and a RR strip punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  I then added the RR and VV layers. I used the Mat pack & Piercing tool to pierce the holes around the VV square and added little punched hearts in the corners.  The quilted heart techinque was created by punching a large heart in the center of my 3" VV square and layering the strips behind the heart. I used dimensionals to add this layer to my card.  I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

Days Are Brighter

This card is for Jeanie's "That's Krafty Thursday" challenge.  I love Crumb Cake (kraft) and red together and I think the Early Espresso adds to the color combo.  I used the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder (SU) on the Crumb Cake panel, the DSP is from Love Letter collection (SU). Card base is Very Vanilla  CS with a mat of Early Espesso CS and then the embossed panel. I used the Scalloped  Trim border punch (SU) on the mat under the DSP. The image is a $1 stamp from JoAnn's stamped in Riding Hood Red ink on Very Vanilla CS.  The ribbon is also Riding Hood Red (retired) from SU. I think that covers it all. Thanks for stopping by.  Comments are appreciated.

God's Beauty

I saw several cards with the pink & yellow combo and had to give it a try. The stamp set I used is an older set from SU called God's Beauty. I stamped the flower in Pretty in Pink and the leaves in Pear Pizzaz. The flowers are cut out and mounted with dimensionals. I also inked around the image with a sponge and Pear Pizzaz ink. I sewed around the image panel and adhered some Metallic Dots from JoAnn's in the corners. The heart paper is some older DSP from my stash.  The card base is Pretty in Pink CS, then a panel of Barely Banana CS, and Whisper White CS. The border punch is by Martha Stewart.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Comments are appreciated.

Birthday Balloons

Another birthday card for one of my granddaughters.  We have 4 birthdays next week, 2 great-granddaughters, 1 granddaughter, and 1 daughter (Jan. 10, 11, 14, & 16th). Then a son's BD on the 29th.
O.K. this card is for one of the great-granddaughters. Jolinne (from My Favorite Things stamps) kind of favors my GD.  This card is also for Jeanie's "That's Krafty Thursday".  The base is Crumb Cake (Kraft) by SU, pink CS is by DCWV and the patterened paper is some older Hot Off The Press paper.  I stamped the balloons on the DSP and cut them out and adhered them with some dimensionals after cutting the image out with an oval nestie. I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and then mounted it on a large scalloped oval nestie which is adhered with dimensionals.  The pink ribbon is by Offray.
Two more cards to go.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

Make A Wish

This is the card I made for my great-granddaughter's 2nd BD next week. She is so sweet, can't believe she is already turning 2 (that is why I put 2 candles on the cupcake).  I used Whisper White, Pretty in Pink & Soft Suede CS and ink (SU).  I used an EK Success punch for the border strip behind the image panel and used the little hole punchouts for sprinkles on the icing.  The stamp set is Big Bold Birthday.  (SU). I stamped the cup cake pieces, cut them out and mounted them with dimensionals on the panel cut with a Nestability scalloped rectangle, which I inked with Pretty in Pink before removing from the die.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.
